World Enough

by P.H. Wise

An AtS Drabble

Disclaimer: I don’t own Angel. I don’t own the poetry of Andrew Marvell, either.

----------------------------

And when he opened his eyes, he saw an angel.

Fred smiled through her tears. “Oh, Wesley. My Wesley.” She kissed him. “You’ll be where I am. We’ll be together.”

The light began to fade, and there arose a terrible longing within him that would never be satisfied. A NEED for... oh God, he needed her! Home was with her, and she wasn’t where he was going.

There, lying on the floor, his life bleeding out his side, Wesley looked upon the face of his beloved. “I love you,” he whispered. “Fred... “

Had we but world enough, and time...

-----------------------------

Author’s note: There’s probably a million of these, yes, but the poem really struck me as fitting for the Wesley/Fred relationship.
