No Caffeine for Willow

Disclaimer: See Chapter 1

AN: Okay, I'm back, with more of my story too, hopefully it will continue to inspire me and I'll get the next chapter out before school starts again for me, anyway, sorry this one is so short, but the next one will be longer, and I will take Willow off world soon. Keep reviewing!

Part 16: No Caffeine for Willow

The Commissary was buzzing with activity, even at seven thirty in the morning. The coffee wasn’t fabulous, but then it was a military facility, and I was happy that it wasn’t actually ground dirt, and there was more to eat then MRE’s. The nice thing about the Commissary was that everyone was very friendly, the cook, whose name I had never managed to catch, was relatively accommodating, and took all of my odd requests in stride. My main request had been to be provided with Lady Gray tea, which is what Giles had been feeding me for the better part of my adult life, even with him in England now, I got boxes of it at my home, and wanted to be able to have the comfort at work, too. My other request was to have Coco-Puffs, the facility had Fruit Loops, so I thought that Coco-Puffs would be a nice addition to the menu, now you have to get to the Commissary early to be able to have Coco-Puffs, as they seem to be a favorite.

Daniel carried his tray of pancakes and syrup, as well as a rather large cup of coffee over to the vacant table that I had managed to confiscate before anyone else became aware of the fact that there was a vacant table, which as surprising as it was this early, was hard to come by.

“You ask me for coffee, and yet you have none.” Daniel surveyed my tray, searching for the missing beverage.

“I’m not good with coffee, it makes me hyper, and then I have problems acting normal or even speaking coherently. I was told many years ago that Decaf is my way.” I smiled weakly, as it was true that I had asked him for coffee, and I have gotten tea, Lady Gray Decaf to be exact, even though Giles makes fun of my decaf addiction, it’s the way I am, and have to be, otherwise I become unbalanced.

“Ah, so how is it that you can work the crazy hours that I do, I’ve seen you stay up way past the forty-eight hour mark, doing research and studying.”

“Lots of practice.” I hadn’t really told anyone at the SGC about my high school experiences, the closest I have gotten is telling Daniel about Buffy and her pension for the bizarre and trouble, in new and interesting fashions. It’s not that I wanted to lie to everyone, but more that I couldn’t find a way to tell them. Though they where used to the strange and new, with the whole alien thing, I wasn’t sure how to broach the subject of the demonic, so I hadn’t, and was fully aware that this would bite me in the ass sometime sooner rather then later.

“Mr. Giles told me that you had an incredible work ethic, I guess I didn’t think you could rival mine without coffee.” Daniel dug into his pancakes, with a quizzical look on his face.

“Yeah, and I do it without any caffeine at all, I use sugar.” I smiled widely at Daniel’s bemused expression, and started in on my Coco-Puffs, so that I would actually be finished in time to get to our briefing, possibly even before it starts.
