Description: A crossover between two of my favorite worlds, BtVS and Fullmetal Alchemist.
A/N: A short teaser that will surely lead to an actual fic. Surely.
Disclaimer: Not mine. Not yours. We play with them through a glass of infringement lawsuits and hope they obey our commands.
Dawn’s hands absorbed little of the shock as she was thrown violently against the bricks. Her head make a sharp ‘crack’ as it hit, and she leaned heavily on the wall, fingers digging into the mortar to gain support. Her ragged breath puffed out into clouds of vapor to drift away into the wind. A triumphant growl brought her back to reality and she flipped around just in time to grapple with the vampire that was straining to rip into her throat. Her arm trembled from the pressure, and the vampire’s fangs were bared with the desire to kill. “You’re mine…” he hissed.
A clap was heard. Then, unbelievably, the pavement lurched up between the two of them, separating the vampire from Dawn’s view. It rippled before her, then sank bank into place, leaving a bloody smear on the alley wall opposite.
Dawn blinked, not believing what her eyes were telling her. Slowly, she turned to her right, where the orange glow from the street lights filtered into the narrow alleyway. There, she saw a young blond man, wearing a plain black shirt and what looked like a metal glove that fitted his arm up to the shoulder. He carried a red cloak. As he walked closer, his footsteps echoing around her, he passed in and out of shadow and Dawn noticed that his eyes were a liquid golden color.
Her shock and physical exhaustion caught up with her suddenly, and her legs buckled. As she sank to the ground she heard the young man calling for a companion, then, a gentle hand was cradling the back of her head. After that, it was dark. And quiet.
