"NO!" Ginny Weasley and Dawn Summers tried in desperation to hold their respective fathers back.
"Giles, come on. If you can forgive Angel, you can forgive this guy. Please!"
"Dad! Stop! Where the hell is Ron when you need him? Dad!" Rupert Giles glared fiercely at Arthur Weasley.
"What are you doing here?"
"Stopping You-Know-Who. Going spy, are you?"
"Hey! That's not fair!" Dawn stood in front of Giles and glared at Arthur, hands on her hips. "Giles may have been all demon-conjuring when he was younger. But he's good now! Ask anyone! Otherwise he wouldn't be here."
"Miss Summers is indeed correct. Mister Giles is now, in fact, head of research in our fight against Voldemort." Arthur and Ginny shuddered. "Now, Arthur, fear of a name gives fear to the thing itself."
"Professor Dumbledore, maybe I should stay at the Council Headquarters during my... position."
"No way! 'Cause then me and Buffy can't stay here."
Giles raised an eyebrow. "And why would Buffy and you be interested in staying here?" He motioned to the interior of Number 12 Grimmauld Place.
Dawn mumbled something inaudible under her breath then added, "Well, not neccessarily Buffy but..."
"Dawn." The tone in Gile's voice was stern. She mumbled something again. "Dawn, do speak up."
"I said," she mumbled again but a bit louder. Giles caught the words 'crush like thing' and 'pot'.
Giles groaned. "Dawn you don't fancy Mister Po-"
"Ginny," Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived, entered the room. "You haven't seen Ron, have you? I can't find him anywhere." Dawn's blushing was cut short by the wicked smirk that played across her face.
"You might find him with Buffy... upstairs in one of the bedrooms." Dawn heard squeaking and muttering behind her and knew instantly that Giles' glasses were being polished.
Harry made a disgusted face. "Thanks Dawn. I think I'll wait until dinner." Dawn grinned goofily and waved slightly as Harry left the room.
"Well, I suppose that we could stay here for a bit longer." Dumbledore stood off to the side and Dawn swore that she saw his eyes twinkling. "As long as it is certain that there will be no more... skirmishes between myself and certain members of the Weasley family."
Arthur snorted and Ginny looked at her father as if she'd never seen him. "Dad, I swear. I've only ever seen you act like this with Lucius Malfoy."
Giles' ears pricked up. "Malfoy? He's still around? I'd think he would've ended up being Kissed."
"He has. A few years ago. His son and wife are currently seeking shelter here as they were recently attacked by Death Eaters." Dumbledore's eyes were twinkling still.
"HIs wife?" Giles was looking more confused by the second.
"Narcissa Malfoy. I believe she was a Black before your wand was broken." Giles turned pale and Arthur smirked.
"But of course, Ripper, it wouldn't be kind if we weren't to offer you a place here at Grimmauld Place."
"Mister Giles, Arthur, I believe that we could arrange for your girls to stay here while you continue research at the Council Headquarters."
Giles coughed and smiled gratefully at Dumbledore. "I believe that would be best. Well, I suppose I should get going."
"But Ripper, you haven't said hello to Molly or Narci-"
"Yes, well, Dawn, please tell Buffy what has happened. I might drop by tomorrow. Professor Dumbledore. Weasley, Miss Weasley." Giles almost ran out of the building, being careful not to slam the door. Dawn giggled and rolled her eyes at Ginny. She loved watching Giles react to his old life. It was like his first years at Sunnydale all over again.
