"Buffy's White Knight," the dark man mocked the brunette boy. "You still love her . . ." The man leant in closer, staring at him. "It must just eat you up that I got there first," he said. It was clear
that the words were hurting the kid deeply.

The kid fought his nervousness as he stared back, his face an iron mask. The man the kid was facing was Angelus, known as the Scourge of Europe, for having slaughtered half of the continent in his old days. The demon was one of the most dangerous and most evil of his kind. The kid wouldn't stand a chance. "You're gonna die . . . And I'm gonna be there," he teased back, trying not to budge under the demon's pestering.

Angelus slapped the flowers against the kid's chest. "Tell her I stopped by." He gave the kid one final look and walked away. The kid shuddered as he covered his mouth and let out a breath of relief.

In the middle of a boiler room the kid and a boy are facing each other off with a bomb between them. The timer counts down its last seconds.

"I like the quiet," the kid calmly said to his nervous opponent.

The kid moved slowly toward his childhood friend.

"I love you, Willow."

"Stop!" Willow commanded as she tried to throw another magic blast, but it was too weak to have the effect she aimed for. She started to get teary.

"I love you."

"Stop. "

As the kid got right up to her she started to hit him with her fists in a last attempt to reject his love and her own pain. She failed as she started to cry, while falling to her knees and the kid knelt with
her, wrapped his arms around her and held her while she sobbed.

"I love you."

As Willow continued to cry in the kid's arms, the veins faded away from her face and her hair returned to its natural red.

Caleb grabbed the kid and turned him around so they were facing each other.

"You're the one who sees everything, aren't you? Well, let's see what we can't do about that."

Caleb plunged his thumb into the kid's left eye, gouging it out. He screamed in agony.

In the Briefing Room of a secret military base, Brigadier General Jack O'Neill of the United States Air Force smiled at the brunette young man. "Bowling league, Thursday nights?"

"Have my own ball," the kid replied.

"You got game, son!" Jack praised the kid. He studied the kid, correction - young man - for a while. This morning the one-eyed pirate looking guy had come into his home with his own fishing gear telling stuff about the The Simpsons. The young man knew about him and the Star Gate program and showed him a stone which was similar to the one he had found in the mirror universe several years ago. They had a sort of psychic connection whenever they touched one of these stones. It was a kind of Ancient long-range communication device. Apparently he must have activated the link between the stones when he had picked his one up for the first time. While he tried to comprehend it all he saw Daniel gazing at him.

"Wait a minute," the archaeologist interrupted his thoughts. "Jack, you've been seeing parts of the life of a carpenter in California for seven years and you never mentioned it?"

Jack dug further into the archives of his mind. He hadn't recognized the kid immediately from his visions. But hey, loving the unreachable blondes. He definitely remembered that. "Yeah, sure I did. I know I did." How couldn't he have?

His team looked at each other and he saw Sam shaking her head in denial. "No. No, you didn't, sir."

Sure, there was the ordinary daily stuff. Adventures, torture, provoking evil, protecting family, saving the world. Nothing special. But hey, there were good comics and bad movies in the visions as well. "I didn't?"

"You didn't find that the least bit odd?" Daniel asked.

He turned to the young man again. "Actually, no – I found it quite ... relaxing."

The Scooby smiled. "Me too."

I wrote this as a one shot, but if there are people who would like to see more of it, I have some ideas. Especially now Xander has the Ancient gene.
