Disclaimer: Buffy the Vampire Slayer belongs to Joss Wheldon and Harry Potter belongs to the wickedly amazing J.K Rowling. The songs in this story belong to the songwriters who wrote these amazing songs. Please don't sue me, I'm completely and utterly broke and it's for entertainment purposes only.

Timeline: during season 3, Buffy, AU: Harry Potter.

Rating: PG-13 for violence and swearing

Categories: Drama, Angst, Action/Adventure

Main Character(s): Buffy, Draco, Lucius

Author's Note: This story is an inspiration from an story I read in the Harry Potter section of FanFiction.net except with several differences:

- It's a crossover with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

- It's a 'Buffy's biological dad?story.

- There's definitely no Buffy/Lucius in this story (or Hermione/Lucius either). No offense folks, but I just don't think that it's a good pairing.

- This story takes place after book 5 (Harry Potter and the Order Of The Phoenix) and before the Buffy episodes Graduation Day Part One and Graduation Day Part Two.

- Draco is NOT a nasty kid in this story. He's more of a troubled one so don't flame if you think he's out of character a little bit.

- Harry and Cho are NOT dating in this story. They're just friends and are dating other people.

- Angel is in the story and is dating Buffy.

Well, that's it for now. Enjoy the story and please review!

The Miseducation Of Lucius Malfoy

By RaeAngel

June 12, 1999

Sunnydale, California

Buffy Summers and Rupert Giles walked together toward an abandoned church searching for anything suspicious. For the past few weeks, there had been more vampire activties than usual and despite the growing threat of the Mayor and his minions, Buffy and Giles decided to investigate and end it quickly so they could focus on finding a way to defeat the Mayor. Quietly, they entered the church armed and ready for any surprises if vampires have decided to attack them unprepared. Buffy looked around, her eyes scanning the room for anything suspicious and then she moved forward with her stake in her hand. Then she stopped at a door and just as she was about to move again, she heard a faint but weak cry from the other side of the door.

"Can someone help me?"

That caught Buffy off guard. Curious but catious, she opened the door and entered what looked like an office. What she saw next almost made her feel sick to her stomach. A man laid on the floor. he was painfully thin and looked like he hadn't eaten in years. He had long silver blonde hair that reminded Buffy of Spike and gray eyes. In them were fear and a twinge of hope that someone had come. Buffy saw that there were cuts, bruises and gashes all over his body. Some of the scars looked at least fifteen years old.

Oh, my God! Has he been down here for that long? How can not anyone know that he was down here? This church has been abandoned for that same amount of time!

Suddenly snapping back to reality, Buffy ran to help him. "Sir, are you all right?"she asked. Then she turned to call for her former Watcher. "Giles! There's someone in here and he needs medical attention".

Hearing Buffy's cries, Giles ran to the room and just as he entered it, his eyes widened in recognization as he glanced at the sick man's face and looked into his eyes, which also flickered in recoginzation at seeing Giles.

"It can't be."Giles whispered.

That can't be good. Buffy thought as she spoke. "Do you know him, Giles?"

"He was an old friend of mine from school."Giles replied. "But how can he be here? I thought he was back in England."

"Well, we have a lot of time for questions and answers." Buffy said. "But here is not a good place. We'll take him to my house. He'll be safe there away from vampires and other things that want to kill him." She took one of the man's arms and put it over her shoulder then she gently stood up to help him make the long, difficult walk back to Giles'car and made the drive back to Buffy's house. Once they got there, they helped him out of the car and guided him into the house. As she opened the door into the house, Buffy yelled.

"Mom? Mom, are you here?"

"Yes, Buffy! I'm here." Joyce Summers's voice rang out from the kitchen. As Joyce came out of the kitchen to greet her daughter, her face paled when she saw the man holding onto Buffy like a broken rag doll and recognized him immediately.

"Oh, my God!" she whispered. Then she snapped out of it. "Buffy, take him to the guest room. I'll get the first aid kit."

With Giles' help, Buffy carefully helped the man up the stairs and then guided him to the guest room. Then she helped him get onto the bed and covered him up with a blanket. Then a few minutes later, Joyce reappeared with a first aid kit and she opened it up. She took out several bandages and laid them out in front of her while Buffy gently took the blanket off of the man. Giles returned with a bowl of water and a cloth. Buffy dipped the cloth in the bowl and gently wiped blood off of a cut on the man's cheek. He winced and cried out in pain and agony then tried to move away.

"It's okay, it's okay." Buffy said in a gentle voice in an attempt to calm him down. "We're not going to hurt you. We want to help you. You're safe here. Shhh."

The man's agonized cries died down at the sound of Buffy's voice and his eyes filled with tears as he looked into her green ones. Buffy smiled at him gently to calm him as she continued to treat his wounds. When every cut and gash was bandaged up, Joyce and Giles left the room to talk privately. Buffy went to get up to leave but the man grabbed her arm.

"Please." He pleaded with tears in his eyes. "I don't want to be alone."

Feeling sorry for him and taking pity on him, Buffy nodded. "Okay, I'll stay with you."she said and she sat back down again. The man's grip on her arm loosened and she took his hand and held it to let him know that she was there.

"How long were you there? At the church?"Buffy asked. She could hear the man choking back sobs as he spoke and it made her feel even more sorry for him and she regretted asking the question.

"Fifteen years." He answered. "He locked me there when I wouldn't join him."

"Who?" Buffy asked feeling a sense of remorse. "Who put you there?"

Then she saw a twinge of terror in the man's eyes and on his face and he began to cry in fear and terror. Buffy squeezed his hand and began the process of trying to calm him down again. After nearly an hour, he had no more tears to shed but he kept glancing at her as if to say 'thank you' for staying with him. Buffy smiled at him as if to say 'you're welcome'.

"Listen, I'm going to talk to my mom and then I'll be back, okay?" she said. "I'll be back." Just as Buffy was about to leave the room, she heard him say something.

"Lucius Malfoy."

Buffy turned around and she said in a confused voice. "Sorry?"

"That is my name."He said.

At that, Buffy smiled. "Oh, okay."Then she thought of something then she made up her mind. "Buffy Summers. That's my name." Then she left the guest room to go downstairs to the living room where her mother and Giles were waiting with anxious looks on their faces.

"Did he say who he was?" Giles asked.

"He said that his name is Lucius Malfoy." Buffy said. Then she saw the confirmed looks on the faces of her mother and former Watcher and she sighed in frustration.

"Okay, can you two just tell me what this is all about?" Buffy asked desperate to know what was going on.

Giles went first. "Lucius Malfoy was a friend of mine when I was in school in England. We both went to a school of witchcraft and wizardry called Hogwarts. At the time, we were the best of friends. Then he married another friend of mine Narcissa and had two children, a daughter and a son. But then a dark wizard named Voldemort came to him wanting to recruit him to join him. Lucius refused and at one point Voldemort threatened to kill his first-born child. That's when Lucius discovered that his daughter was destined to become the Slayer and that if the Dark Lord knew of this, he will kill her. To protect her, Lucius and Narcissa gave her up for adoption and told the rest of the world that she died from SIDS."

"It took Lucius a very long time to recover from this experience." Giles continued. "When his son, Draco was born and again Voldemort tried to recuit him but again he refused. Then something happened. What? I don't know. But all I knew was that after years of refusal, he joined the Dark Lord and ignored his former life. He didn't even acknowledge that he had a daughter he and his wife had given up to protect her from Voldemort. That's when I became convinced that something had happened to Lucius. After I became a Watcher, I dedicated myself to find out what happened to him and then find him once I did. But I never had much luck in my quest."

"Until tonight when we found Lucius at the abandoned church."Buffy said.

Giles glanced at her. "Until tonight. I think Lucius is the reason why for all the vampire activities in the area for the past few months. I'm just surprised that they didn't kill him."

"Me too."Buffy said. "If we hadn't found him, he would be vampire food by now. But then again, he should have been dead years ago if he's been here in Sunnydale for fifteen years.?lt;br />

“Wait." Buffy said remembering something. “How do you fit into all of this, Mom?"

“I met Lucius and his wife eighteen years ago in England when Hank and I were looking to adopt a child." Joyce admitted. “Then they had their daughter with them whom they named Aurora. She was a beautiful child with blonde hair eyes like her mother and facial features like her father and I fell in love with her immediately. It was hard on Narcissa to give you up but it was even harder on Lucius. I could tell that he loved her very much but he wanted her to be safe and cared for. That’s when Hank and I made an agreement to tell her when she turned eighteen so she would know that her parents loved her very much. Her father most of all."

At first Buffy was confused but then she put two on two together when she remembered what Giles said about the baby being destined to be the Slayer.

“Me." Buffy said in a knowing voice. “I’m Lucius’s daughter, Aurora."

Joyce nodded her head as tears rolled down her cheeks. “I can still remember him crying as he gave you to me and the last thing he said to you was “I love you, my darling Sunshine?and he sang this song to you."

Joyce struggled to sing the song in her mind in a voice filled with emotion.

Lonely
The path you have chosen
A restless road
No turning back
One day you
Will find you light again
Don't you know
Don't let go
Be strong

Follow you heart
Let you love lead through the darkness
Back to a place you once knew
I believe, I believe, I believe
In you

Follow your dreams
Be yourself, an angel of kindness
There's nothing that you can not do
I believe, I believe, I believe
In you

Someday I'll find you
Someday you'll find me to
And when I hold you close
I'll know that is true

Follow your heart
Let you love lead through the darkness
Back to a place you once knew
I believe, I believe, I believe in you

Follow your dreams
Be yourself, an angel of kindness
There's nothing that you can not do
I believe, I believe, I believe
In you

Tears welled in Buffy’s eyes as Joyce finished singing and she broke down completely. Giles took her into his arms and glanced at Buffy with a gentle glance.

“Go to him, Buffy." He said. “I think Lucius deserves to know that his daughter is alive and well."

Slightly nervous and clearly not sure now what to say, Buffy went back upstairs and went back into the guest room where her newly discovered father was laying on the bed. He was still awake despite the weariness he was feeling and he didn’t look at her. Then just as she went to take her place at his bedside, Buffy began to hum the song Joyce sang to her moments before. Within seconds, that caught Lucius’s attention and he looked at her with a pained expression on his face.

“Why are you singing that song?" He asked with a pang of pain and sadness in his voice.

Buffy fought back tears as she spoke. “That was the song you sang to your daughter before you gave her up for adoption to a couple who vowed to love her just like you and your wife did. Your daughter grew up to be a beautiful young woman. Courageous, kind, loving and compassionate toward the people she loves. She loved her friends and her family more than anything and as the Slayer, she vowed to protect them at all costs."

Buffy saw that Lucius was struggling to keep from completely losing it as he spoke in an emotional voice. “How do you know all that?" Her already shaky resolve almost began to collaspe all together as she spoke again.

“Because, I was that little girl you gave up for adoption and sang that song to."She said.

A few stray tears ran down Buffy’s cheeks as she spoke those words but Lucius lost it and broke down completely as the realization dawned on him and crying, he stared into the face of his daughter.

“Aurora?"

“Yes, it’s me." Buffy then said the one word that made Lucius cry even harder. “Dad."

Crying now, Buffy took her birth father into her arms and held on. Lucius was clinging to her like a child whose was finally reunited with his parents. Before she knew what she was doing, she ran her fingers through her father’s hair and rubbed his shoulders gently. After nearly two hours, they pulled apart examining one other.

Lucius couldn’t believe how beautiful his daughter had become as a young woman. Her blonde hair was now shoulder-length but the color of her green eyes remained the same shade he remembered them as. She looked almost like him except for her hair and her eyes. She had her mother’s hair and her grandmother’s eyes. She was peitie and looked very small for her age but looked tough enough to take care of herself. He was amazed that she was still alive because of her destiny to become the Slayer.

Most Slayers do not live past their seventeenth birthday. But she’s still alive.

But that didn’t matter to Lucius. For a very long time, he wanted to see her again but wasn’t sure he was going to live to see that happening or even if she was alive.

“You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this moment." Lucius said to Buffy. “To see you again. But I didn’t think I was going to live long enough to see that happen or …”

“Or know whether or not that I was dead or alive.?Buffy finished for him. “Well, I’m still alive and kicking. I’ve had my fair shares of vampires and demons trying to kill me. I have a lot of stories about vampire slaying and everything else in between. But I better wait until you’re better before I tell them all." Mental note to self: never mention anything to Lucius about the time I died.

Lucius chuckled weakly. “Aurora, I may not be well but as your father, I would love to hear about your adventures as the Slayer. I want to know you and about what happened to you for the last eighteen years."

Buffy couldn’t help but laugh. “Okay.?She said in a playful voice. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you, Dad." Then she cleared her throat and she began telling him her story.

“It all started back in L.A …”

Well, what do you think? The song Joyce sang was "I Believe In You" by Il Divo and Celine Dion. Chapter 2 will be up soon. Please review!
