The rules, as Xander explained them, were simple.

First, they each ate a corn dog. Then they rode the bumper cars.

Then they each had a large drink. Then they rode the pendulum.

Then they were supposed to eat cotton candy, but Richie hated the stuff, so they each got an elephant ear. Then they rode a roller coaster.

Then another soda, followed by the teacup ride.

Then a large order of French fries.

They were in line for the Spider when Adam caught up.

By this time the competition was a grudge thing.

Harris was indignant. “No one interrupts a game of chicken!”

Ryan looked stubborn. “I might explode first, but I’m not going to back down.”

Pierson was trying not to laugh. “The first one to throw up loses?”
