Prank Wars II-Revenge of the Red Head
Abby and Kate were laughing hysterically at the look on Gibb’s face as he walked into the lab. He was soaking wet from head to toe, thanks to the Prank war that Xander and Tony had started upstairs.
“It’s not funny. They could have wrecked the equipment.” Gibbs growled, which only made Kate and Abby laugh harder.
“Ah, come on Gibbs. You have to admit it was a sucker bet after all. I mean, Tony picks on probbie’s like it’s going out of style. The background check I did on Harris showed he was a class clown and ultimate prankster. Not to mention who he hung out with in high school.” Abby explained.
“Hey, I resemble the remark, and whole heartedly agree with you. Gibbs, you fell for that bet BAD!” Abby’s newest research assistant exclaimed. Willow had followed Xander to NCIS mostly to keep an eye on him and to find something else to do with her life.
“Yeah Gibbs. You’re losing your touch, bad.” Kate added, laughing again as she took in the site of an all-wet Gibbs. “I mean, even you had to know…” Kate stopped and then looked at Gibbs. “You knew.” Kate exclaimed suddenly.
“Gibbs knew what Kate? Kate, come on, don’t leave me hanging!” Abby exclaimed, confused as to what was going on. “Isn’t it obvious Abby? He knew that Tony would lay into Harris and vice versa. He knew that they’d see who could piss him off first.” Kate explained.
Willow couldn’t help the snort that escaped from her not trying to laugh. Gibbs shot her a look that dared her to keep laughing. She knew Gibbs wanted to get Kate and Abby back for the bet. But if she kept laughing, she was going to ruin it. After all, she did help plan the whole thing.
“There’s no way he could have known Kate. I mean, there is no way Gibbs could be that sneaky.” Abby tried to argue. Her desk phone rang, breaking the stalemate. “Lab, this is Abby.” She answered as Kate continued to glare at Gibbs. Oh, Kate knew someone was trying to pull a fast one.
“Gibbs, that was Ducky. He said, and I quote “The juvenile delinquents are causing a bloody ruckus up here and if you don’t get up here soon, he’s going to do something dastardly to the both of them”. He sounds mad.” Abby observed. “Fine. This isn’t over you two, one bit.” Gibbs said, stalking back to the elevator. “Rosenberg, you’re with me on this.” Gibbs barked. Willow quickly followed him into the elevator.
Once the doors were closed, she turned to Gibbs and smiled. “Think it worked?” She asked. Gibbs smiled at her and turned back to face the doors. “Yep. I think they fell for it hook, line and sinker.” Willow laughed and did a little dance. Yep, Gibbs thought, her plan was working just fine. He did have a soft spot for red-heads after all.
