Richard choked on his drink. “Excuse me,” he coughed. “Could you repeat that?”

She did, and added, “Didn’t you hear me before?”

“Apparently, I did.” He grimaced, trying to figure out an answer.

He thought back to his first experience with Raina, then Claire’s harsh accusation and finally what Anita had said about it all. Finally he said, “Maybe you should ask the women I’ve slept with.”

Anya smiled. He hadn’t started bragging. “Or maybe I could find out for myself.”

She was cute, and her deviation from the norm seemed like her worst, no… most trying trait yet. “Maybe.”
