River appeared silently at the door, looking serenely at the trio on the bed. She walked towards them and sat herself down.

“The monsters were killed a long time ago,” she stated quietly, staring at Willow.

Willow looked at her in shock.

“The Slayer killed them all once her Red went missing.”

With that, River took Simon’s hand and dragged him from the room.

Kaylee noticed how pale Willow had gone. She stroked her hair and waited for Willow to continue with her story.

“How does she know about the Slayer?” Willow whispered.

“River can read minds,” Kaylee answered. “But what was she saying about monsters?”

“My world was full of them,” Willow replied simply.
