"I'll let you two get better acquainted."

Methos was going to kill his old 'dear' old friend Rupert for that one. Leaving him here with this insufferable, annoying --

"So, Adam - Immortals, huh? And you like, watch them whack at each other?"

Wincing, Methos drew his beer toward him, avoiding answering the question by taking a long, long drink. Maybe if he ignored him, the boy would go away.

What would MacLeod say to know that a mere child of a mortal was so close to making him beg to have his head separated from his body?

Andrew Wells, he thought with a mental sigh of irritation, liason of the Slayer's branch of the Council...

...and bane to Immortals everywhere.

Andrew looked down at Adam's broken, bleeding body.

Dead.

Oh, God. He was dead!

He took a step back from the body, stomach lurching. That guy with the gun had just come out of nowhere and then...bang!!

Swallowing back bitter-tasting bile, Andrew tried to keep calm. He needed to...to... do something. Call... the police. Right, he needed to call the police.

And Giles. Oh, Giles' friend was dead. That had to suck. Adam had been a good guy, too. They'd only known each other for a week, but he'd already decided that Adam was one of those 'old souls', sort of like Giles. Those guys that just knew everything somehow.

Now Adam was dead.

Dead and bleeding all over the sidewalk.

Again Andrew's stomach twisted up, threatened to send his dinner back the way it had come.

Wait.

Did Adam just...take a deep, gasping breath?

Andrew's eyes went wide as Adam's came open, the previously dead man lifting his head up to look at him.

He was.... he was...

"You're one of them!" The realization made Andrew dizzy. "You're an Immortal."

He heard the crack as Adam let his head drop back to the ground. Hard. And then --

"Bloody hell. Now it will never stop."
