Blaise knew exactly what he was doing here. He'd mouthed off to Snape. He couldn't help it. Things were getting a bit tense these days if you were a Slytherin, but she was just a bitty little Ravenclaw.

"I melted my cauldron." She offered proudly.

Blaise looked at her in shock. A, why was she talking, and B, why was she talking to him?

"I could tell you were wondering what I was doing here, so I told you. Now I'll go back to minding my own soddin' business, and you can go back to pretending I don't exist."

He strolled into detention pleased as punch.

Luna Lovegood looked up at him in shock. He'd heard she had detention again tonight, another cauldron melted because her mind was elsewhere, so he'd melted his own today. It was spectacular. Snape had given him a very shrewd look when he'd said detention, as if the greasy git knew exactly what Blaise Zabini was up to. It wasn't as if he could hang about her for real.

"I melted my cauldron again." She offered.

"I know." Blaise replied as he sat down next to her. "So did I."

Luna looked at him all wide-eyed. Blaise smirked.
