"Miss Granger?" The lead wizard asked, startled, Dawn nodded. "I'm here to warn you of a pending attack, we came across the plans of a group of former death-eaters, and you were next on their hit list."
To the man's great consternation Hermione began to laugh. She led the group to the conservatory so they could see the destruction, dust and bodies in there.
"It seems we were too late." A woman from the back of the crowd said, stepping forward as their leader did goldfish impressions. Hermione nodded.
"Were there any casualties?"
"No, only the stunned death-eaters and a few vampires." The officious woman looked impressed.
"If you ever consider becoming an auror, mention my name," she said "Lovegood, Sophia Lovegood." She shook Hermione's hand.
By the time the two women had stopped chatting the Auror's leader had recovered.
"Right let's start cleaning up. Standard memory wipes on all Muggles."
"What?" Hermione shrieked. "You can't make them forget! I'll explain it to them."
"May I have a word Miss Granger?" The man asked, leading her by the elbow into a corner.
"You cannot expect the Ministry to let these Muggles walk away with knowledge of our world. We cannot allow such liabilities at the will of a child." Hermione began to speak, but was cut off by the auror starting again.
"And, quite frankly, this whole affair is rather suspicious. A lone teenage girl holding off an attack of two death eaters, and an unknown quantity of Vampires? I rather think not. I don't know what your little game is, or who you're allied with, but I will reach the bottom of this."
With that the Wizards apparated out, taking an outraged Hermione with them.
