The Slayer Walks Into A Bar

Disclaimer: I don’t own BTVS or Stargate. BTVS is owned by Mutant Enemy & Stargate owned by Gekko.

A/N: One possible scenario for where Buffy could have ended up after her fall through Glory’s portal. This is a one shot for now. Just trying to work through writer’s block on my WIP Not Quite Heaven.

Jack O’Neill was bored. He and SG-1 had been waiting for Jacob’s contact for over an hour. He’d been going off world for years now but this was by far one of the worst places he’d been. The bar was seedy and made some of the dives he’d been in during his younger days look like the Ritz. It stunk of cheap booze and body odor – not a combination Jack wanted to be exposed to for any length of time and yet here he was waiting.

“How much longer are we going to wait, Jacob? At this point we could have gotten in and out of the compound all on our lonesome.”

Jacob Carter had to resist rolling his eyes at the younger man. For all his years in the military Jack O’Neill certainly hadn’t learned patience. “The Slayer will be here.”

“And what kind of name is Slayer. Is it supposed to strike fear in the hearts of all who face him.”

Before Jacob could respond the door to the bar opened and the noise level dropped noticeably at the sight of the person who entered. She was a lethal combination of sex and death in black leather. A sharp look from hazel eyes caused everyone to quickly go about their business.

Looking at the golden blonde woman you’d never think she’d inspire fear. She stood no more than 5’4 in her black leather boots. Most people would describe her as delicate, until they looked into her eyes. Their hazel depths spoke of pain, loss and death. Her death and possibly your own.

Through the haze of the smoke filled bar the woman made eye contact with Jacob and noted his four companions. He’d always met her alone before and she found it strange that this time was different. It put her on guard, you could never be too careful. She’d known Jacob for three years now and they’d had an excellent and profitable, for her, business relationship but that didn’t mean she trusted him.

In another life, when she was Buffy Summers, she’d trusted people but out here that wasn’t an option. Especially when people kept trying to put some kind of slimy snake in you. Nope trust was a luxury she couldn’t afford. But Jacob could get her other nifty things like shiny weapons. One thing that hadn’t changed, she was a girl who loved shiny weapons.

As Buffy Summers, the Slayer, stalked toward them Jack swallowed heavily, “The name fits.”
