Obviously I don't own the rights to Potterverse cause I'm so not British. I also don't hold any rights to Buffyverse, cause I haven't got the guy parts. Those rights belong respectively to J.K. Rowling and Joss Whedon. I merely borrow them for a few moments of time.
Drusilla Winterborne looked around the dark path she had apparated onto. The village lay a little way ahead, but she wasn't sure of where the house she was searching for lay. Nor even the occupant of said house. Waving her wand idly towards the coal dust that coated several of the nearby rocks and plants she conjured a large dog to lead her to whom she sought. "Severus Snape please puppy." she cooed softly before adjusting the hood of her cloak to provide adequate protection and warmth.
Severus glared at the door as he heard an abrupt knocking, he wasn't expecting any visitors, and the visitor he did have at the moment, was twitchier then a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. "You might wish to go hide Pettigrew in case it is one of those foolish villagers. I'm quite certain I can handle a few nosy villagers." He waited until Peter was sufficiently out of sight before opening the door a crack, "What is it?" he snarled, stringy hair sliding into his eyes.
"Is that any way to greet an old classmate Severus, I'd almost think that the time we spent working together in Potions was all for naught?" Drusilla asked, "Besides you'll upset Sooty. And he was so kind enough to escort me here."
Severus glanced down at 'Sooty' and then glanced back up at the owner of the voice. "Dru? But what are you doing here? I didn't think you were still around. I thought for certain after you and the Dark Lord had the falling out about things that you were long since passed on."
"Aren't you going to let me in? I have some news that I'd rather not have unseen ears hearing." Drusilla smiled brightly, "if you don't wish for soot to be tracked into the parlor, do let me know."
Severus smiled briefly, more of a strained smile then anything, "you're here, might as well come in, just disband the magic holding him together." He glanced around before opening the door wide enough to let her slip in.
"Bye puppy. Be a good boy." Drusilla whispered before waving her wand briefly to disperse the soot back to the ground. "I've come bearing such good news. The crazy old man will give you a much desired promotion. But it will come at a risk to your good nature."
"Mmmm, that's nice news. Do you have time to perhaps elaborate on the news? Perhaps over tea?" Severus wasn't truly sure how long Drusilla was going to be visiting, but he wanted to be a little hospitable to her, even if he wasn't sure what she was going on about.
"Oh no, I must get back to my sweet golden prince. His mind isn't quite what it once was." Drusilla said with a smile. "I went to visit with Sister Sibyll and Old Albus stopped me before I left to give me this." she rummaged through a pocket in her cloak. "A lovely missive all for you." She extended the heavy parchment paper envelope, still sealed with the Hogwarts crest.
"So you saw all this before you received it." Severus asked incredulously, pocketing the item quickly in case certain prying eyes and ears got a hold of it.
"But of course. And before I go, should you ever need a safe place to stay, simply contact me and I'll open my home to you. Hopefully my sweet prince shan't be too much of a bother to my dark knight." Drusilla smiled brightly, "I really must get going before my precious Gilderoy gives the cat a bath. T'wouldn't be seemly."
"Safe journey Dru. I'll keep your offer in mind." Severus stood and opened the door for her to leave, wishing that for once she would have kept him company instead of Pettigrew, they both knew the dangers of working both sides of the fence. But as always, she had other pressing duties to attend to and couldn't keep a fellow spy company.
