AN: Sorry it’s taken me so long to get to this, but the bunny hasn’t been helping with baying to be revised (which it has been, twice). Let’s see how this one turns out…

(Summers Home, 2 hours later)

Buffy watched as both Xander and one of the girls that he had shown up with, Hermione, she remembered, worked methodically to patch the wound on Dawn’s stomach up – it hadn’t been particularly deep, but according to both of them and the other woman, ‘Tonks’, it might leave a scar.

She wasn’t sure how to feel at any of this, well, she knew that she felt angry at Xander because, damn it, her butt wasn’t boney! She huffed for a second and the anger went away, being replaced by more than a little bit of fear and loathing – she had been ready to jump. She was going to put herself through that portal to close it, to save the world and several others, when Xander had told her to start THINKING before he threw the blood-soaked cloth through the portal, “See? Now, wasn’t that better than flying through the air and making a one-point landing on the ground?”

“There you go, Dawnie,” Xander said as he made one last stitch to close the wound, something he didn’t think was necessary but it was better to be safe, rather than sorry. “Now, don’t be doing any sit-ups for weeks, or anything particularly strenuous, because if you tear the stitches, I’ll have to restitch them I’ll use the Monkey Blood on it.”

Dawn quickly shook her head, “No, no Monkey Blood. That stuff HURTS!”

Hermione frowned, “’Monkey Blood’? Blood from a monkey, or any primate, wouldn’t have any healing properties.”

Xander shook his head, “It’s a nickname for something called Merbromin, an antiseptic from back in the day that really sucked.” He dressed Dawn’s wounds and, when they were taped, he leaned over and put a kiss on her forehead, “Now, have you been a good patient?”

“Did I have a choice?”

He shrugged, “Well, if you were a good patient, I’d see about getting you a sucker.”

Dawn perked up a little, “Grape?”

“No promises.”

“’Kay.” She then crossed her arms across her chest, under her breasts, he realized, to emphasize them, “I’m not a little kid anymore, though, Xander.”

He shrugged, “Okay, so no sucker.”

She growled at him, “Yes, sucker, no little kid, though.”

He chuckled and nodded, “Alright, I’ll see what I can do. Now, down those pills and get some sleep.”

She nodded and complied, “I expect answers, mister.”

“You’re not the only one.” They all turned to look at Willow, who had taken up residency in the door, “Now, Mister.” She backed this up with the Resolve Face, a powerful one, one that he had never before been able to stop, let alone ignore.

Until now, that is, “Yell later, Willow, I think we need to sleep now.” He emphasized the point by yawning hugely, one that ripped a yawn out of all present.

Willow growled a little but relented, “Fine. You three sleep here, tonight.”

From her bed, Dawn said, “I can make room in my bed for Xander, if he wants.”

The looks she got in return told her the answer to that comment.

“He may sleep in my bed, if he feels like it,” Joyce said from behind Willow. “He and his virtue should be relatively safe there.”

He smirked at the mother figure, “Now where would be the fun in that?” She gave him a pretty blush as Dawn, Buffy and Willow all growled at him, so he went on, “I think we’ll take the couch and sort all of this out in the morning.”

Buffy and Willow didn’t look like they liked it, but they relented. Dawn, however, spoke up, “And what about my sucker?”

Once D had been given her sucker, which she had promptly teased Xander with, using coy looks and licking it with her tongue like an ice cream cone, they had all calmed down and gone down to the living room. She’d watched the two new hotties, Hermione and Tonks, curl up on either side of X, Red and Tiger go to another chair, and B in the last chair while Mrs. S. had gone upstairs.

Faith found herself studying Xand for a few seconds, noting that he looked… older… more tired than she remembered, but he was out like a light. This brought a smile to her face – she’d missed him over the past few weeks, their talks, their fights, everything, and now that he was back, she wasn’t going to let him go.

She crept over to the couch and sat directly in his lap, making sure to grind back into him for a second before she turned and whispered into his ear, “Welcome back, lover.” She then pulled forwards and kissed him on the lips, deeply, which he slightly returned in his dead sleep, before breaking the kiss and curling into a ball on his lap. Yes, the next few days were gonna be interesting…

AN: Alright, it’s about damned time I got around to this. Short chapter, I know, but it’s only the first one. Reviews, please, as answers are to come in the next part.
