“Names Buffy.” The petite blonde offered a hand.

“Michael. Thanks. For the rescue from that...” he paused and wondered how to describe a person with huge bumps on their face. The same one that had turned to dust minutes ago.

“Hideously deformed woman?” she supplied with a grin.

“Yeah.” Michael’s heart was still beating a mile a minute. “That was incredibly brave.”

“All part of the job.”

“So you go around rescuing schmoes like me on a regular basis?”

“Yup. No usually so cute though.” Her grin grew, as he blushed.

“I…. Uh…. Ca-“

“Chill Stutterboy, I know your gay.”

“How?”

She pointed behind him to the ‘Babylon’ sign. He blushed harder.

“Happy New Year!” she tossed over her shoulder as she walked away.
