A lab deep in an unknown forest

We thought we had survived the horror . . . but it only just begun.

He was floating. The world around him was black and hazy. He felt so sleepy . . . He didn’t know where he was but couldn’t muster up the emotions needed to panic. He just wanted to sleep and never ever wake up.
But something kept tickling his mind. Something like him wanted him to wake up. It made promises he wasn’t sure it could keep. The tickle would go away and come back, it wanted to talk to him. It wanted things . . .

In a circle like womb lay a boy of unknown age. He was asleep, floating upside down, in a fetal position. A breathing tub was down his throat, restraints clasped around his thin limbs. He looked so fragile as he floated in the glass womb. The young boy looked completely normal with the exception to the spidery slits high on his shoulder blades.

Around the boy stood white coated men and women. They had cold uncaring faces and examined the boy like a bug under a microscope. Every once in a while the boy would twitch and they would write.

The tickle to his mind returned so finally the boy let it in.

~Hello . . . ~

The boy twitched. Now the tickle was a caress on his bruised mind.

~ I’m here to help. Now wake up.~

Twitching violently the boy snapped his rust brown eyes open. He was surrounded by a thick green gel. He couldn’t move. Panicking the boy thrashed and started snapping his metal restraints off. Blood started to inky into the green mix hazing his vision more.

White coats ran around him like a flock of frightened pigeons. But one man stood still, he watched the boy like a proud father watching his son take his first step.

Suddenly the green gel was drained and the glass womb opened like a cracked nut. He was naked and cold. So very cold. The voice that awoke him was gone but people were around him. Lots of people with clip boards.

A short woman with analyzing eyes came forward and placed a blanket on him. He looked at her and got a good look at the writing on her coat. Umbrella Corp.

Grabbing the woman the boy forced her down to his level so he could look more closely at the writing. Many of the people around him panicked and tried to aim weapons at him, but a tall man next to the boy halted that.

Tilting his head the boy touched the symbol on the jacket. It was two colors. Red and white. It was almost circular. The symbol he’d seen it before. Letting go of the woman the boy watched as a smiling man came forward.

“Hello little one . . . Do you know where you are.”

The boy just looked at him, looked through him. Getting up the man talked to one of the computer attendants.

“Prepare to activate Protector of Man. I want read outs and scans done of Alexander within the hour.” He said to the people around him. Blinking at the sound of his name Alexander felt lost.

Who was he?

Why was he here?

Review and tell me what you think.
