Willow and Tara's dorm

Xander fidgeted as Willow set up the ingredients for her spell. Magic never seemed to work right around him, so he didn't like for spells to be cast near or on him. "Wills, tell me again why you think it's a good idea that you do this spell on me?"

Willow sighed as she placed the last bowl of herbs in the circle around her. "Xander, this is a good idea. Really! This spell will only bring out your inner strength and show us where it's needed! It's a good spell. It's harmless too!" She said, her eyes sparkling brighter with each word.

"If you say so, Willow. But if something of the bad happens, Spike is so going to kick your butt!"

Willow rolled her eyes. "Fine, fine. If I mess up, your boyfriend can kick my little booty, OK?!" She said as she gestured for Xander to sit. Sighing, Xander sat down on the charcoal design Willow had drawn. She said it was a magical center and that he had to sit in the middle of the star-shaped design.

As Willow closed her eyes and started to chant, Xander hoped that for once a spell went right for him. Watching as the lines of the star started to glow, Xander closed his eyes, wondering if this was going to hurt, as the light reached him in the center.

Feeling powers enter his body, Xander gasped. Then whimpered as he felt things unlock within him. He could feel the hyena, the soldier, and something so much more powerful and deadly combined within his soul. Opening his eyes Xander tried to meet Willow's only to discover he had to look down. He was floating five feet within the air and Willow was looking at him with scared eyes. Not good!

Xander yelped and looked down as the star design crumbled up to reveal a void of light. Screaming, he thrashed about as tentacles of light started pulling him in. The last thing he saw was Willow trying to chant a retrieval spell.

Darkness. Numbing darkness was all he knew.

Shivering, the little boy in the light-blue teddy bear PJ's held his blue blankey tightly to him as he walked around in the dark. He started sniffling as he neared the exit of the alley and looked out.

"Mommy? Daddy?"

Hearing an odd sound the little boy ran back into the alley and hid inside a big cardboard box. Peeking out the little boy spoke again.

"Willow?! Jesse?! Daddy, Xan'er sowwy! I be good boy now?" He whispered as he crawled to the back of the box and covered himself in his blanket. Xander frowned. He was sure only minutes ago he was with his Willow and that he was wearing something else. He was now in his blue, teddy bear, footie PJ's-- the one's his auntie Jena got him for Christmas. His mom always put them on him because they were his favorite.

Curling himself into a ball Xander went to sleep still whispering that he was sorry and that he would be a good boy. Falling into a deep sleep he shivered. As he shook, his little hands began to glow. Slowly his shivers stopped and his little home for the night became warm.

"I sowwy . . ."

Being a tired little boy, Xander didn't notice a man stop at the alley he was sleeping in; didn't notice as the man stopped at his box . . .
