“Our first drummer, Stumpy, died in a bizarre gardening accident,” Nigel explained. “Eric choked on vomit, Peter spontaneously combusted, Mick was killed in an on-stage explosion, Joe disappeared, Ric sold his dialysis machine for drugs and that turned out to be a fatal mistake, and, well, we can’t remember what happened to the other fourteen except that there was a lot of blood and screaming. Do you still want the job?”

“I fear nothing,” Olaf bellowed. “I shall beat your drums and make merry sport with your more attractive groupies.”

“Right on,” Nigel grinned, raising his fist. “Rock and troll!”
