Knowing the PTB, you have a mission. Of course the PTB are never kind to their chosen champions. How do you react to having an expiration date?

Every one of us has a dirty little secret. Somewhere on our hard drives we have a story staring ourselves, in disguise or not, as the main character. Well, here's your excuse to punish the rest of us with your MarySue/MartyStu self in the Buffyvers...

One (or more) of the Scoobies and/or Fang Gang is a re-incarnated mortal from Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" universe. For a twist, however, there can be no time-travel or dimensional travel involved; everything that happened back then is very much in the past, and they can't go back. The story must unfold in the "present" day, though flashbacks are encouraged.

The challenge is: have something about that past-- a surviving heirloom, a reincarnated lover or enemy, some prophecy involving a specific bloodline or person, etc.-- rear up to complicate the life of the character (or charact...

As 2012 comes to a close and a new year approaches, I encourage our authors to look to the future... and where the characters of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel: the Series might fit into that future.

Assuming you're one of the people who doesn't ignore the Buffy Season 8/9 comics and their Angel counterparts, the present day in the universe is roughly 2006. I was writing another story and I suddenly had a flash of inspiration to mention the Gummi Bears. After which, I felt like reading a Gummi Bear story. Alas, none were to be found on TTH. So, I am posting this very simple challenge to everyone to write a Gummi Bear story.

Rules:

-You can't call them Gummy Bears (with a 'y')
-Not YAHF
-No Slash. In fact, this is a kid's show. Try to keep it PG.
-I think a Scoobies go to Gummi Glen will work better than the other way around, but seeing Princess Cala in modern America could be interesting too.

The challenge is this:

A BtVS or AtS character and a character from another genre meet up in Vegas and get really, really smashed. They end up in bed and MARRIED. Your story should pick up the next morning, when one or the other (or both) wakes up completely confused.

What comes next for the (un)happy pair? Do they stay together? Is there a reason why they can't separate? Are there long term consequences or just short term? And what do their friends think of what's happened?

Galadriel had been having visions of a young elleth who had somehow been taken to another world. The young elleth was disguised by magic as a human and raised as one, but Galadriel could see past that and knew the truth. Buffy Summers was an elf and she belonged in Middle Earth not in some hell dimension with vampires. Stretching out her senses she sent and urgent summons to both Gandalf and her March Warden, Haldir. It was long past time they rescued this young elleth before her fea was broken altogether.

The rules of Buffy the vampire slayer are very clear, 'The Powers that Be' have one side while evil in all its forms, IE The First & Wolfram & Hart, have another. They set up things almost like a chess board, champions on one side, big bads on another.

The Halloween prank goes horribly wrong, and the planet is utterly destroyed, or made uninhabitable, killing everyone.

Challenge parameters:
1. Preferably a single chapter only.
2. Anything goes, as long as the planet does.
3. Should be a proper "Oops!" moment.

OK a simple hopefully fun Halloween challenge. The idea is characters from a crossover or crossovers of the authors choice are in Sunnydale on the Halloween when Ethan did his spell and in order to blend in or to play along with whomever they might be visiting they buy costumes from Ethan's shop.

The challenge is to have at least two complete sets of the tailed beasts from Naruto sealed into people of the Buffy universe as a result of who they dressed as for Halloween. One group will be tasked with guarding the Earth from supernatural threats and tied to the slayer line (Kendra goes as the Sage of the Six Paths and dies, permanently or temporally is up to the writer). The other set is charged with protecting the Earth from extraterrestrial threats (the authors choice as to scifi series to cross with but would prefer Stargate).
