Challenges

Okay, I really do not have the skills to pull this one off, but it would be intriguing to read, and I haven't found any like it yet on the site.

James Potter had a younger brother. At the height of the first Voldemort war this brother's memory was obliviated and he was hidden with the Giles family. With the death of all the Potters except Harry, Dumbledore decided to hold the secret for the safety of the hidden Potter.

Now, after the final defeat of Voldemort, Harry is sifting through the remains of his Grandparent's estate and comes across a small chest full of memorabilia...

When Ethan invoked Janus' power for the Halloween challenge, isn't it reasonable to think that some other deities or highly-powered beings would have noticed and possibly have decided to take advantage of the chaos Ethan released to further their own purposes?

I've already used this idea in several of my own stories to justify why some of the Scoobies retained their costumes powers, so why not let some of the other Sunnydale residents get the same privilege and fun?

Maybe Superman's semi-nemesis, Mr. Mxyzptlk, decides that raising havoc on the Hellmouth could be fun, especial...

There's a wonderful author named Roger Zelazny. I'd like to see Buffy X-over with his works. Any of his works. Though my favourite ones are God of Light, Chronicles of Amber and This Immortal (...and call me Conrad). Does not matter when in the series, really.
It could either be:

YAHF - considering, for example the nature of Shadows, Buffy's multiverse just might have Amber and Courts of Chaos regardless of the fact it is a work of fiction in this world.

True family. Let's just face it - this author's heroes usually just cannot keep it in the pants)... therefore, for exa...

For those who haven't heard already, the actor who played Ethan Rayne - Robin Sachs - died on February 1, 2013. This challenge is a request to see more stories about Ethan or maybe one of the other characters played by Sachs. If it's about Ethan, then you can do pretty much any crossover; if it's one of his other characters, then you'll have to tie it back to BtVS/AtS somehow to fulfill the site rules. Of course you can write a non-crossover and just not list it as an official response to this challenge.

A little self promotion - and to give you an idea of what you can do with this id...

Inspired by our good friends at the TtH forums, this challenge is offered to all.

When the First Evil got smacked down, it decided to regroup and try again (see the first story, 'The End's Beginning' by myself for the set up).

Now, here’s the challenge to authors: Pick a single (only ONE) BtVS/AtS character that you like to write and one or two fandoms to go with them (no more than two, though…at least until everyone has had a chance to pick). Then start a ‘verse based on the adventures they have there trying to prepare for the final showdown. For example: Fred goes to ...

Subject: Illyria

Challenge: Take 20 Minutes and write about the character given in a crossover setting. You will need to write for no more and no less than 20 Minutes, so pay attention and keep on track. Writing the header and/or title of the fic does not count. Please use the entire 20 Minutes for writing the fic.

Dawn dresses to impress Xander that fateful Halloween night. Tagging along with her sister to the costume shop, Dawn is quickly forgotten for (in Dawn's opinion) a monstrosity of epic poofy proportions. Browsing the aisles by herself she finds the perfect costume.

In the mind of young Dawn, Xander must only like Buffy because she's strong, a hero, right? So what better costume to finally catch his attention than a powerful girl from the future?

Sadly, the costume information card said nothing about the state of River Tam's mind or the horrors she has witnessed.

WANTE...

What if Buffy really was traumatized when she was put into that Insane Asylum when she was fifteen? Only... it wasn't in Buffyverse. She's not a misunderstood slayer. Something happened and her mind chose to construct that little scenario. What happens after the doctors help her get better, that is your challenge. Make Buffy a willing warrior to defend humanity, and the preternatural, from threats.

Requirements:
1. Buffy must be born in Anita-verse.
2. Buffy is in an asylum in the Anita-verse after a traumatizing event.
3. Buffy is some form of lycan, make your pick.
4...

Basically a oneshot with Buffy paired with one of the Young Justice guys (*bonus points for Nightwing/Dick, Superboy/Connor, or Blue Beetle/Jaime*) or another hero from that universe. It can even be multi-chaptered, if you want. Buffy can either be Slayer Queen or a hero in her own right (*ex: thanks to Halloween, etc.*).

Other 'required' characters (*from BTVS*): Faith, Giles, and Xander. If you want to bring in others, that's okay. I just want those three in it the most. ;)

Good luck!

In order to get Xander's attention, Willow buys a Starfleet Uniform from Ethan's shop. When the spell hits, she becomes a version of herself from the Star Trek universe. Armed with a phaser rifle and a tricorder, can Captain Rosenberg understand the Hellmouth?

A Buffy/Star Trek/Stargate SG1 Crossover

Requirements

1) Captain Rosenberg knowing the Buffy The Vampire Slayer cast in the Star Trek Universe. Examples: Giles is a teacher at the Academy, Angel is really Liam who time traveled to the 24th Century.

2) 24th technology stays afterwards including all...

Okay, we've all seen the "real father" challenges.

We know that Dawn was made from Buffy, but she's obviously not a clone. Since there has to be other genetic material, there must be another parent. However, since Buffy is the mother, Dawn would have been "born" in around '86, so Buffy would have been around five years old. For the record, the youngest mother on record is also five years old (email me, I'll send you a link)

This of course lends itself well to police show type crossovers.

1.) DNA testing has repercussions. A police department or other officia...

For Halloween Xander (or some other anime/manga lover) is inspired/reminded by the many pumpkins about Pumpkin Scissors.

1. Buffy (or other female character) could dress as 2nd Lieutenant Alice L. Malvin in either her ballroom finery (and be a not so useless Princess) or in her Military garb.

2. Xander could go as any of the male characters, but especially Corporal Randel Oland or Warrant Officer Martis.

3. Have at least two (2) characters go as members of Section 3 and have the props with special significance remain real after the night is over (Randel's lantern o...

I've seen a vast number of challenges here which involve Xander being transformed into a woman because of mistakes or problems generated by the Halloween costume he chose, so I'd like to suggest that the same consideration be given to the other Scoobies.

How would Willow react if the ghost costume she chose was a 'Casper' costume and she was transformed into the boy Casper had been prior to his death?

What would Buffy do if the gown she chose at Ethan's had originally been owned by a female impersonator, and she is transformed into him when the spell hits? And that she doesn...

I love Real Family stories, to ridiculous proportions. So I challenge you to write one of ridiculous proportions:

Jack O'Neill is the father of Buffy AND Xander AND Willow, AND the grandfather of Dawn.

Jack had an affair with Joyce in LA and a wild night with Jessica (Xander's mom) in Sunnydale or what have you.

Willow is also Jack's daughter, and was adopted by Ira and Sheila.

Must Have:
Buffy, Willow, Xander and Dawn ending up at the SGC fighting demons.
The Scoobies doing a spell to see if Jack has any other illegitimate children out there. Up to...

This idea is for a BtVS/HP crossover, set just after the season six episode "Grave" for Buffy, and just after the events of Prisoner of Azkaban for Harry Potter.

Willow is having trouble controlling her magic, and her emotions are still very raw with grief. She is in Giles' garden, singing a song softly to herself, and accidentally conjures forth a very rare, mystical flower with a truly mesmerizing scent. A soft breeze carries the scent of these flowers to Sirius Black, who is wandering nearby in the form of Padfoot and recognizes it as something he and his friends once encountered...
