Greetings!
It's that time of year again when most of us are getting in the holiday spirit. Instead of doing a Secret Santa, like in previous years, we're going to do a little Fic For All. Please read the instructions/rules below.
1) The site is located at http://www.tthfanfic.com/ficforall.php. You login using your TtH login info.
2) Look at the "pairings" that are open. Choose one. Write a fic that is at least 100 words and no more than 3000 words long. Please keep it themed with something from the current season (holidays/winter/etc). "Pairing" does not mean romantic. It can mean friendship.
3) Any rating. No angst or darkfic.
4) Create a story at TtH in the multiple cross category. You will use THIS SAME STORY for every fic you submit to the Fic For All - just a different chapter each time.
5) Grab the link to the fic you just posted at TtH and, at the FFA site, click the submit button next to the pairing you wrote. Put the link where it goes, fill in the rating, and THEN -
6) Choose a pairing for someone else to write (that is not already on the open OR completed list!!). List the BtVS/AtS character FIRST, the crossover character SECOND. Please list the crossover character's FIRST and LAST name (if they have one) so that we do not get confused by characters that have the same name.
7) If you are writing a second/third/etc fic for the FFA... please be sure to link directly to the CHAPTER of that particular "pairing" in your story at TtH.
8) This is easy enought, but if you have questions please email jinni@tthfanfic.com.

Alrighty then. I just spent a few days cleaning out the challenge pages... a grand total of 75 challenges were deleted. You should have been notified if one or more of them were yours. If you did not receive an email, then:
1) Your email was set private,
2) You have the same pen name as someone else, and I didn't know which to send it to,
3) Your email has issues, because I did receive a fair number of my emails back, or
4) The challenge was so incredibly horrible that I had to immediately go take a long shower after reading it.
And for Sophia's sake, don't develop a diva attitude, decide I was wrong, and repost the exact same challenge I deleted. If I deleted it, it was for a reason. Get on with your life. Because if I have to delete the same challenge a second or third time... I'm not going to be happy. And then I'm going to have to consult Jinni. And I'm quite irritating, so then Jinni won't be happy. And when Jinni isn't happy... nobody's happy.
On a totally unrelated note... Harry Potter authors... please put your NEW stories into the appropriate sub-subcategories on the site? Why make more work for our lovely moderators than you have to? I thought this would be common sense... but evidently common sense isn't very common anymore.

Joe will be going through all of the challenges to ensure that they meet site requirements. The challenge section was only intended to be used for crossover challenges pertaining to BtVS/AtS in some way. These guidelines will be posted in the challenge section just as soon as I get my laptop with all of my files back.
1) All challenges must be crossover related between BtVS or AtS and any other book/movie/show/etc. If you have a "pure" BtVS/AtS challenge that you would like to post and/or a challenge that does not relate to BtVS/AtS in any way - feel free to do it in the appropriate category at the forums. See the little forum link in the menu bar to get there.
2) Challenges should be actual challenges. A challenge does not consist of "I want to see Xander and Phoebe hook up, PlZ!!!111!!!". A challenge usually has at least a glimmer of a plot and maybe some requirements. Just saying you think a certain pairing would be cool is not a challenge. The only items that are separate from this rule are the ongoing challenges - 20 Minutes, Poetry, etc., which are posted by myself or site moderators. If you would like to suggest a recurring challenge such as one of those, again, go to the forums and look for the Recurring Challenges category. I gladly take suggestions for poetry, song lyrics, etc that should be used in Recurring Challenges.
3) Challenges should adhere to a similiar standard of grammar and spelling as the site itself requires. We would not allow you to mispell character names, places, or anything else in a fic - therefore it isn't allowed anywhere else on the site, either.
Joe has been told, by me, to just go ahead and delete challenges that do not meet these very basic guidelines. He will also be e-mailing the posters in question, unless they did something silly like hide their e-mail address. In which case he can't see it and I will not be taking the time to look it up. Those posters will simply have to live without knowing their challenge was deleted.
So - if you see our # of challenges start to go down, that's why. If you see a challenge that you posted suddenly disappear - that's why.
Get it? Got it? Good.

I've been given the authority to go in and police the Challenges page. To that effect:
1) If you have a challenge that's pure BtVS/AtS, please remove it. This is a crossover site, not a pure BtVS/AtS site.
2) On the other hand, if you have a challenge that's pure any-other-genre, please remove it. Same reason as above. This is not a Roswell, Smallville, Harry Potter, or X-Men site. This is a Buffy-can-be-crossed-with-all-those-things site.
3) I'm not going to delete it for a single misspelling, but please make sure your challenges are spell-checked and easy to read.
According to my watch, it is... 7:00PM EST on November 18th. That means that at 7:00PM EST on November the 19th, challenges that don't belong will start disappearing. They will be removed, and you will be notified afterwards.

For the next 2 or so weeks I will not be working on the moving of stories. I have two papers that are due along with an exam I have to take. Those authors who have stories in the Harry Potter Category if you could please move your stories to the proper new sub and subsub categories. It would be greatly appreciated. I will continue to move stories when I have the time to do so. If you need to get in contact with me about anything you can reach me at queensereya@myactv.net My @tthfanfic.com should be activated soon and once it is you may reach me there as well.

1. I've moved all the stories in the West Wing category. Please make sure your story is where you want it.
2. DON'T JUST PUT YOUR STORIES IN SUB-CATEGORIES. PUT THEM IN THE CORRECT SUB-SUB.
