"Grilled cheese, execute!" This made me laugh when I thought about it for a moment. Wonderful update with an outstanding fight scene. You do action very well and I now can't wait for Big Momma to show up to show her displeasure about how the nasty people were treating Junior.
This is one great story. I do like all the action and it is just so cool to see the Alien interacting with the Buffyverse characters. I do wonder if Mr. Traeten really works for the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. That was the company that Ellen Ripley worked for in both the Alien and Aliens movies. Plus, the Weyland-Yutani Corporationwas one of the clients for Wolfram and Heart mentioned in one of the last Angel episodes. Along with Yoyodyne from Buckaroo Bonzai. Please keep updating as I really want to see more of Buffy the Alien Slayer at work.

Until now, the fic has been very good - interesting premise, very IC characters, no bashing. Plus, a rather charming enemy (enemy?) in your Corporate Man. I'm looking forward to a vampire's encounter with a face-hugger - Does the impregnation even work on a creature without a metabolism? And what do the demons think if the first of their kind is eaten and/or transformed. Good job!

Neat little story you've got going here. I like it, anyway. Keep up the good work, as I'm really interested in seeing what you're going to do with it. Happy writing!

Good digestion of facts, yeah, the creature is a lot weaker when forced to deal with terrain rather than the three-dimensional movement allowed by a building.
More from the creature's POV, please :)

Just looked at the previous reviews. The things that sit on the finger are saturation probes. They monitor blood oxygenation and give an idea as to cardiac function as they develop a wave form based on blood flow - ie. the patients pulse.
Cardiac monitoring involves a series of cables attached to dots that stick to the skin, they hold a small amount of gel that conducts electric charge so that the electrical activity of the heart can be monitored. At its most basic this involves three cables, at its most complex - 16. If the basic rhythm is all that is wanted (eg. a young trauma patient) then three would be used. the more complex ones are used in people who are thought to be at risk of heart attacks/angina so that signs of these can be monitored.
Your description of people calling a code blue is slightly off. Cardiac monitors will give a different alarm for a detached cable to that from a cardiac arrest or malignant arrhythmia. Also the first part of any arrest call is to check the patient, as giving external cardiac compressions to someone who is well can actually cause problems (aside from the usual broken ribs). A nurse who was overreacting like you had described would likely have been pulled off duty for retraining if she had done so three times in short order.

Well, I'm enjoying the story so far. Love the idea of Buffy and the Sunnydale gang having to deal with the aliens. I think you're doing a good job with the conflict between Walsh and the Scoobies, even if the Scoobies haven't figured out that there is a conflict yet. It's certainly in character for Walsh to be seriously annoyed by having to work with someone she doesn't have complete control over. That woman was the worst control freak, and the Scoobs chaotic way of doing things would have driven her crazy if she had to deal with them much. It's also nice to see Buffy using her brain for once and working things out. A lot of fanfic authors write her as brainless muscle, and she was actually always a lot smarter than people assumed.
Oh, and you asked about hospital equipment and procedures, well, having been in the hospital for a few days last year, I can tell you that it's mostly duller than dirt, and that the heart monitors these days don't attach to the arm. They use a sort of clothespin looking thing that clips onto the end of your finger and uses an infrared light to monitor both your heartrate and your blood oxygen level. The darn things do slip off anytime you move your hand if you aren't careful.

I really like your story's combination of horror and humor. I look forward to more updates when the Scoobies go up against the Alien. If the attack on Giles had worked, I just have the horrible mental image of an Alien with the intelligence Giles. Or what if it had taken Spike. The combination of Alien and Vampire would have been nasty to the max. The Earth would have been doomed! Lol!

Oh, poor Giles. Buffy won't deal well with this at all.
Thank you, fastpilot
