Review of chapter "Epilogue – Saying Goodbye" from windsorw
I just found this story from a friend's recommendation, and wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. There are so many possibilities with Xander, and this is a really intriguing idea. I liked your portrayal of the Mayor -- much darker and more menacing, and very much a competent individual with a plan. I'm not sure what to expect with the Smallville crossover -- I haven't watched the show since partway through the first season. But I'll definitely be reading the sequel and seeing how you handle those characters.

That was pretty great. Interesting premise. Solid writing. Good pacing. Giles is a bit of an ass, but he was a bit uptight season 1, wasn't he? I just wonder how the scoobies will hold together without Xander. They don't appreciate him much, but he is the heart of the group. Without his loyalty, love, and support, I could see some tough times. Not to mention all the times he specifically saves their lives or the world over the next two years. I hope you don't just glaze over the effects of Xander's absence, but I guess we'll just have to see. Thanks for the story, and I'm moving on to the next one. (200,000+ words for a single year? I'm really scratching my head at what that's all about.)

Review of chapter "Chapter One – A touch of destiny" from JEHayes
Been meaning to read this for a while, but never managed to push through the weird norse gods stuff at the beginning until now. But it looks to be pretty awesome. I'll probably just leave one bigger review at the end, but I had to say I'm looking forward to this. Especially with the prospect of a Glory vs. Xander-Thor god on god fight.

Ok, totally wasnt expecting to like this fic, but you've done amazingly well in not turning Xander into too uber a character. He's going to be a lot like Clark in the sense that his judgment will be what screws up situations, and not a lack of powers. I'm moving onto the next fic now. Keep up the good work.
One thousand thanks for not using Marvel's Thor and norse mythology for this.

Review of chapter "Epilogue – Saying Goodbye" from TheatricalBarrister
This has been a very entertaining story. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel. The chapter were Xander met Odin in the mead hall and exchanged tales of the dead with others was particularly moving for me, and was well written, without being overly sentimental or sappy.

Review of chapter "Prologue" from Joezales
I was a little skeptical about this story since Thor is Marvel and Superman is DC (yes I am a comic book geek). But I will give it a chance. So far I like it, I like the whole Viking outlook on Death etc that you put in there.
Comments from author:
I hope that you enjoy it. But please keep in mind that I'm not basing this off of the Marvel comics version of the Thor character, I'm basing this off of the classic Norse Mythology version of Thor and there's a very, very big difference in outlook and personality there.

Great story, poor Xander after his childhood this happens and then he has to leave Sunnydale and go live with relatives he doesn't really know. Great characterizations and interactions.

Fantastic story. Not far fetched considering the Buffy/Smallville universes. I really liked how you "Smallvilled" Xander (not making him transform into the blue suited older Thor as like the comics.)
I'm off to read the second.
Thanks for the great read!

amazing work. Truly one of the best written pieces Ive read on this site. I originally thought you'd have Xander kill his father accidentally after his father killed his mother, but the way you played it out was even better and more open ended. I look forward to future stories.

An Echo of Thunder has 42,773 hits and only 79 reviews. Which I find appalling, I'll skip the cliched comments and just say amazing work, those people who don't review are lacking in some basic courtesy and I look forward to reading the next story.

Review of chapter "Epilogue – Saying Goodbye" from AnthonyR
i dont usually read smallville crossovers, aside from the fact that i stopped watching the show shortly after clark finds out that his dad wants him to rule the world. i lost interest after that, but this is a pretty good story and i intend on starting the sequel right now, i just figured id be nice and leave a review on this story as well. i didnt know that the 13th warrior was based on a chrichton book, ill have to read it and hope for the best. so far ive read four chichton books: prey, jurrasic park, lost world, and congo. and the only one that can stand up to its movie version is jurrasic park. both the lost world and congo sucked.
