Sinister Dexter and The Authority are both comic books.
Sinister Dexter is by Rebellion and makes up a regular part of 2000AD (the only comic I have on subscription), while The Authority is one of many titles recently re-lunched by WildStorm Comics (part of D.C.).
If you want to read good Authority stories, go for the older stuff, back when Warren Ellis started it off: it kind of went down hill after he left.

River killing Six in the second chapter was brilliantly done and I enjoyed both the Andromeda and Stargate chapters too. (Although the firefly one was my favourite)
