Review of chapter "Chapter Five: Realizations" from ShalaDakiri
Review:
Ouch. Talk about abandonment issues.

To be honest, Sam's actions didn't strike me as malicious, at least not intentionally. As was pointed out, she was just getting started in the SGC around when Buffy was Called. As a woman on a frontline team, she'd have had to work a lot harder to prove herself. And she does have a habit of focusing on something to the exclusion of anything else. I can easily see her not realize how much time had passed since she last contacted Buffy.

Jacob? He was, canonically, much more career-focused than family. He probably realized Joyce and Hank could care for her better and, based on his estrangement from Mark, probably didn't keep in touch nearly as much as he could have.

I can see Buffy's issues causing more than few problems in her interaction with Sam and Jacob. I'm not expecting them to become insta-family (just add water), but I do hope they'll start building new relationships.

The story is great but this chapter is the best. I love the humor you put in it but I also love the serious part. How Buffy shows them that she isn't the dumb blond but that they are single minded.

Wonder what she has to say to daddy dear.

Jack is great. Love his reactions.

Great update. I really hope for more.

Any chance there's a generic 'inattention spell'? Sunnydale Syndrome was so strong it was hard to believe there wasn't something backing it. But otherwise, I can't blame Buffy for being bitter. Sam & Jacob just plain wrote her off.
Jacob's worse, though. He was her dad. Siblings can grow apart, that happens, but for the father to walk away like that, at age 2 onwards? Wow.

Review:
Wow, this really is a very basis for Buffys abandonment issues. Sam really was a condescending smug biatch isnt she? No different than Rodney. I feel so strongly when Jack said if Buffy was Military and Sam snorted before saying Buffy was a cheerleadr then a juvenile delinquent. I would have loved to slap her left and right at that point. And she wonders how Buffy could get so angry with both her and Jacob? I dont see Buffy forgiving them that easily and I would have given her support and encouragement in that. To have your family themselves not caring and loving you enough was so desolate! Family was the foundation of society. Family was the first person with you when you first was able to see, and hear and talk. And for them to turn their backs on you, was just simply unforgivable.

It wouldnt surprise me if Buffy goes from anger to apathy. It hurts her now but later she could just quit being bothered by them anymore. Thats when Jacob and Sam would feel how painful it is for a loved one to look them in the eye and not feel anything, even if both of them bash their heads against a rock just to prove to Buffy theyre remorseful.

Thanks so much for sharing this story and I do hope you update soon.

Glad to see this story continue. Particularly liked Buffy's dealing with the new theory and her explanation for disliking Sam. Also found Jack's reaction pretty much spot on. Hope to read more in the future.

Review of chapter "Chapter Five: Realizations" from Rich
Review:
First, congratulations on having Jack show the quick thinking and common sense to figure out the truth, while the others are still going around in circles. There's a reason why he's the team leader, and some authors forget that.

Second, I especially like Buffy's attitude, including her "do I have food in my hair ?" line.

Third...FINALLY ! I've waited YEARS for this chapter !
