Review of chapter "Lost..." from DieselDriver
Review:
How cool is that? I used to watch Land of the Lost during my 21 years of single life between marriages for lack of anything better to do. It was quite fun even though designed for children. Special effects about late 60's Japanese monster quality.

Edit to comment on your reply: I distinctly remember the episode where they saw themselves by looking all the way around the universe. I also remember that I wasn't to worried about consistency back then nearly as much as I am now. Didn't know about the episode authors. Didn't know Walter even wrote books. I knew Michael Dorn wrote at least one book and there was supposed to be a continuation book but I never found it. Left us sort of hanging at the end of the first book. I thought it was pretty good although I can't really remember anything else about it after reading so much other stuff. To many things in my head. New stuff pushes out old unless the old is REALLY good.
Comments from author:
More than that, though. Especially in the first season the writers, many of whom had spent time working on Star Trek, took pains to keep things coherent and accurate to the design of the universe they placed things in. Of particular note is the small closed universe they used, though the full shape was never quite clarified, I think it had to have been some 4D analog of a torus or klein bottle. Sure, there was a lot of cheese in the effects - Saturday Morning TV was not budgeted very well. But writers like David Gerrold, Walter Koenig, Larry Niven, and Theodore Sturgeon took pains to not write *down* at children, but to present some pretty complex concepts in a way they could handle. And you have to admit, there are more than a few people to this day you can freak out pretty majorly by hissing like a Sleestak behind them. Even more if you then put a clawed hand on their shoulder from behind.

Review of chapter "Here's To The Girl..." from DieselDriver
Review:
Well, Geez Louise... Pixel is obviously "The Cat Who Walks Through Walls" from the novel by that name by Robert A. Heinlein. The A. stands for Anson. He was married to Virginia for a long long time. If you haven't read Heinlein, your world needs to be broadened considerably. Start with "The Past Through Tomorrow" and continue with "Time Enough for Love" etc. till at last you read "TCWWTW". Then read all his so called juveniles and find out where the idea for Tribbles came from. Lot's of fun. Best Science Fiction author who should have been immortal. Has been featured in 2 different stories by Larry Niven as characters. "Footfall" and "The Return of William Proxmire". Footfall is the only alien invasion of Earth that actually has a logical reason for the invasion that I know of.

Set him up against that big Russian if he is still alive at this point. Otherwise, something I never understood about this other than it wouldn't fit in the narrative. If I were an immortal I'd carry a gun and when attacked I'd shoot the attacker then lop off his head. Would NEVER attack first though, it would always be self defense.

Buffy would have had to brace herself with something. At the weight and strength Teal'c would have simply tipped her over if she hadn't.

I remember reading this somewhere. If someone could PM me with where it's posted I'd be grateful.

As I recall, it was a small door that opened up for Pixel, not just a hole. It's been awhile I could be wrong.

I watched a few episodes of Quantum Leap but it just seems silly. On the other hand it shows just what a versatile actor the captain of the NG-01 is.

Oh come on... Rose is alive and in another dimension. You can't kill Jack, well, kill, temporary at best, even blowing him up doesn't make it permanent.

I'd love to have the story of Jack's beginnings and how he got the way he is.

Have to wonder, which picture they gave Xander. For the Record I liked the David Eccelstone Doctor far better than Tennant or The bonehead who replaced Tennant. Haven't seen any with the new doctor in them yet.
