Review of chapter "Chapter 10: That First Step" from hand
Review:
Holy crap you updated! I'm so happy. Thank you, thank you, ect.

I liked this chapter and I can't wait for Wes to get all elf-ified.

You rule!
Comments from author:
THank you! It was nice to finally write some more of this. It was entirely too long between updates.

Review of chapter "Chapter 10: That First Step" from Clannadlvr
Review:
Great chapter! I particularly love the way that you write Boromir in reactions to Wesley, and I must say that I'm sad to see him go. But I am quite intrigued by the way Wesley will potentially fit in with the Elves...
Comments from author:
Well, Boromir is gone for now, but not forever [dangles tantalizing hint]. Wesley will find the elves to be challenging, but worth the effort.

Review:
Excellent story. I love that its about Wes instead of the usual suspects, and I like how you're handling his transition. I truly hope you continue with this.
Comments from author:
Thank you, it's continued already. Enjoy the latest chapter.

Review:
I've been reading this off and on all week and enjoying it for a number of reasons -- mostly Wes related. I find his character intriguing. From button-up scholar to rugged fighter - he is Giles to the nth degree...in all directions. Plus a sprinkle of serious self-doubt and self accusation along the way. Your Wes has all those attributes and yet is undergoing a new transformation. I look forward to more.
Comments from author:
Wes is intruiging and one of my favorite characters. I'm glad you're enjoying his tale.

Review:
I can't believe it's an update! He he, it's been a while since I've read this fic so I re-read all the other chapters and the new one. Still one of my favourite crossovers, simply because I'm a big fan of Wesley and I'm intrigued to see what he does in Middle-earth and how he affects the War of the Ring.
Comments from author:
Thank you, and indeed too long between updates.

Review of chapter "9: The Calm Before" from Yanslana
Review:
Wesley is nifty, and I'm loving the new development here. On one hand, I'm rather surprised that he's NOT going with the Fellowship, on the other, well, it certainly is a pleasant surprise, to see you steer him away from the cannon timeline, so that CB did not became a 'tag-a-long' story. Which of course... leads some succulent speculations on how he will 'reunite' with the Fellowship again... then again, this IS the movie-verse, and Haldir DID show up at Helm's Deep... ah well, 'tis all for the future, and your talented fingers to decide. ^_^

I enjoy your characterization of Haldir, by the way, very much so. I see a spark of something that develope between the man and the elf, though too soon to label as 'friend', anticipation, anticipation, anticipation. It looks like everything is moving into what you've planned, Wesley-centric, with a few friends tossed in... and of course, the added speculation on just HOW you'd make the 'friendship' between Wesley Boromir work, since the man's scheduled to umm... die. Then again, future, indeed! ;D

By the by, it may just be me reading Encore Une Fois waaaaaay too many times, but would there be a chance of Illyria showing up here? I know that this is A:tS season four, as you've stated in the first chapter, but something nags me, I could be just reading into things too much, and making speculations too wild for Courtly Behaviour... so yeah, will she show?

P.S. I just saw your reply to my review for Messenger, AFTER seeing your November writing projects at Yahoo Group...

...

I need to buy myself a drool cup for this, don't I? *_*
Comments from author:
Oh, yes a drool cup. It's 10 pages and counting and ever-so-much-fun. How do you feel about a Rhys/Morag pairing?

No, no Illyria, but I am going to do a sequel to Encore Une Fois because it's just too damn fun.

I love perceptive readers- and yes, I think it's more fun to do things this way, make Wesley work for it. I'm a fan of some very well done tag-along stories, but generally I think it's over done. And unnecessary for what I'm doing with Wes here.

Thanks,

Review:
Woo hoo! You updated!!

*dances*

I have to say that my favorite line in this chapter was the following: Haldir watched the way his hands moved over the vellum and plaques, the paper and scrolls, and felt privy to a very personal act.

That's such a wonderful description of how Wesley transforms when he's in the middle of some grand academic adventure. And they way you've put it adds an almost primal/sexual edge to such single mindedness. So nifty.

I'm intrigued to see where Wesley's journey takes him...
Comments from author:
*blushes* Thank you. The sexual edge was somewhat intentional. I really do feel that Wes has a love affair with learning, and he does get his rocks off researching in a way. He's always presented in the show as fairly vibrating with excitement when he finds some new conclusion. It's rather cute, actually.

Review of chapter "9: The Calm Before" from pari
Review:
It's interesting to see Haldir's POV. I agree with him - it's fascinating to watch Wesley work. It's disappointing that he'll be separated from the Fellowship. But I assume he'll see them again. Maybe he'll go with Haldir and the other Elves to Helm's Deep. Whatever happens, I hope it happens soon :) I really look forward to reading more of this.
Comments from author:
I love perceptive readers. This story was started as a direct consequence of the plot rearrangement of the movie version of TTT. Hope you like what's coming next!

Review of chapter "9: The Calm Before" from (Past Donor)elementalv
Review:
Honest, the reason I want to snuggle Wes up to my bosom has absolutely nothing to do with how very, very pretty he is. I just feel badly for him. He always wants so much to help, to make a difference, yet just when it seems that he might, the rug is pulled out from under him.

This was a lovely chapter and well worth the wait. More soon? [tries not to dissolve into shameless and mindless begging]
Comments from author:
Yes, more soon. And you're cute when you beg. *wink*

Your characterisation is on the mark, and I love your twist on the 'landing in middle earth'. This is quickly becoming a very emotional and deep fanfic, which I love. Thanks :)

::does the happy snoopy dance:: You UPDATED!!! I've been waiting for this to update since I first read it... I'm a bit surprised about what happened - but somehow I think he won't be out of the action too long... Nice work.

Thanks,

T
Comments from author:
Surprises are good, yes? And not out of the action, I promise. I just didn't want to follow the 'Jossverse character goes on the Fellowship's quest' forumla. Cause he's got much more story potential than that. Glad you enjoyed!

Yippee!
I was so happy to see this update. I'm glad that you haven't abandoned this wonderful story.

“Well, at least I have this. There’s much comfort to be found in learning.”
-this is so sad! Wes only gets cold comfort, doesn't he?
Comments from author:
Wesley does indeed get the short end of the stick on a regular basis. But things do look up for him, I promise.

Not abandoned in the least, already working on the next section.

Review:
this one is awesome. and takes the plot of ATS charcter goes to LOTR and make something new. are there updates on the way?? i love this fic.
Comments from author:
i really do want to update this. I'm still having plotting issues- the idea of rewriting LotR canon completely is a bit discouraging, and not my point. So it's having to decide what has to stay, what can go, and how I can accomplish it without bogging the story down. Is this abandoned? Not at all. Is it going to be updated tomorrow? That I can't 'promise, but I do appreciate the review indicating interest. Always go for a jump start.
