Personally I could care less about the security clearance issue that many others have a problem with. It's fiction. It shouldn't have to be realistic if you don't want it to. It's your story. I think the story is great so far. Please continue writing and update soon.

i'm actually really enjoying this story...and i think the security clearance thing isn't so much of a problem. i've read PLENTY of stories that gave buffy a higher security clearance than gen. hammond (without a very detailed explanation for why, most of the time), and had no problem suspending my disbelief. i think it's totally possible that the huge mess that was the iniative may have woken SOME people up in government, and someone high up got her that clearance...JUST in case something they did fell under her job description and the gov. couldn't handle it. that way since she already HAD clearance, it wouldn't look odd to bring her in. jmo. i'm looking forward to what you write next!

Buffy could not have a higher security clearance. There are only three: Confidential, Secret and Top Secret. What she might have is clearance for something the people at the SGC are not cleared for, which is not the same thing at all. It does not matter how high your security clearance is, if you do not have 'need to know', you aren't cleared for it even if the information is at the lowest level of classification. Buffy would not have clearance for anything at the SGC either, unless she could prove 'need to know' and then it could be granted. I have had a security clearance since before I finished my military job training in 1977.

In some respects, I have to both agree and disagree with previous reviewers... while I agree that Buffy would not really have a security clearance higher than General Hammond's, she *is* privy to the whole Initiative debacle, which has most probably engendered its *own* special clearance level, to which General Hammond does *not* (yet) have access. When he develops the requisite "need-to-know", which sounds like it will happen shortly in this story, then he will gain access. Or, possibly, if he were ever promoted into the Joint Chiefs of Staff, he *might* then have the "need-to-know" based on that position.
And yes, I can see Sam putting a counter of some kind onto various search engines to see if anyone tries searching for the various Stargate terms... so while it may seem to some as if this story is moving ahead a little too quickly, it is (IMHO) well within the realm of possibility.
And since right now, the President is probably the only common denominator between the Stargate program and the Slayer(s), General George is in for an interesting phone conversation.

I think you are moving too fast here. Especially with the way you are bringing in Stargate Command. It's very unrealistic that they would have detected Buffy and Faith "googling" for such information so quickly.
Also, what relevance is it that Giles is the only person with a college degree?
And this:
“Add to that, apparently most of these people have had police investigations done on them in the past,”
Who, other than Buffy and Faith, are you referring it? Willow was never arrested/charged with anything. The same goes for Giles, Xander, and Dawn.
Although for different reasons, I agree with your other reviewer that Buffy is very unlikely to have a security clearance so high (if she had one at all)
“Apparently though, Buffy has security clearance higher than your own, General Hammond,” Siler added.
You have an interesting idea here but I think you need to work on your execution and take a more realistic approach. In a Harry Potter or Anita Blake style crossover you can get away with a lot but once you bring in Stargate the bar for realism is set quite a bit higher. You need to do a bit more research.
Interesting. I like the way you're twisting the usual fandom cliche: the Scoobies finding out everything about The Stargate group with some computer "magic"... yeah right :P. It's far more realistic; I mean , The SGC has the full power of the ECHELON tracking system in their service, and it's a really really secret program.
See ya!!!
