Review of chapter "A TWISTED FEUDAL FAIRYTALE Arc 2 Broken Mirror 7" from KikiOverkill
Review:
What an uncharacteristic turn
That the heroes should feel the burn

I do not know how they will survive
But I would like to see them make it our alive

Of yokai ideas I have but one
The spirit of a former nun

By lust she was wholly consumed
And she abandoned the vows she had assumed

Her sins turned her into a deceiving beauty
And seducing men became her duty

All of those who knew her touch
Awoke to find themselves aged much

Upon their life energy she fed
But now she always leaves them dead

Review:
No one can deny it
Our heroes are in deep s***
How could they possibly escape
Without their abdomens agape?

I found this to be very exciting
Until the next update, my nail I will be biting
Keep up your fine work
And I promise not to become a jerk

Although this review has rhymes to feature
It does not contain a single supernatural creature
For that I would like to apologize
Perhaps next week some will come to my mind's eyes

Review:
The Castle Lords better watch out, cuz Sesshomaru-sama has arrived!

Again, no particular theme this week, just more corrupted yokai.

Lang Gui-a Chinese wolf yokai who migrated to Japan millenia ago. He is the ultimate ancestor of all wolf yokai in Japan. The evil spreading across Japan has resurrected him as a corrupted spirit from the graveyard of Koga’s clan. He has the power to transform into a powerful whirlwind, a form that makes him immune to physical attacks but limits his offensive powers.

Sogen-Bi-The spirit of a monk named Sogen who stole money and lamp oil from his temple. After death he went to Hell and his body was burned away. His head returned to Earth as a specter wreathed in ghostly flame. The spreading evil has caused it to grow to immense size, burning down forests and villages.

Kiyohime-The daughter of a village headman who fell in love with a priest who later spurned her. She transformed herself into an immense fire-breathing serpent and burned the priest alive inside of the temple’s bell. She was sealed away by the other priests, but she has fed on the spreading evil and broken the seal. She is a huge sea-green snake with a red stomach.

Since things appear to be coming close to the end of the arc, I don't know if you still need yokai ideas. I'll give you some more if you do.

Anyway, I liked the nice little back story for Mae and the Zodiac/Regalia fight. I can't wait to see what happens with the broken seal.

^_^ Kagura's back! *happy dance*

...anyway, here are my yokai ideas for this week. No particular theme this time, though four of them are said to have been described in the legendary text known as the Bai Ze Tu.

Hakutaku-a mysterious creature of great power and great wisdom. In China he is known as Bai Ze and he related a book known as the Bai Ze Tu which contained vast information about all manner of supernatural creatures. In Japan he appeared on Mount Tateyama to warn of a coming plague and prescribe a talisman in his image to ward it off. He has now reappeared in Japan to stop the Castle Lords. It is a white creature with the body of a lion, horns, three eyes, a bearded, almost human face, and hooves.

Lady Kusunoki-A hoko daiyokai who ruled a vast forest inhabited by kodama. Insane yokai killed off many of the trees in her forest and the kodama that inhabited them. The grief has driven her mad and she has been randomly slaughtering human and yokai alike. Her human form is a beautiful dark-skinned woman in clothing made of leaves and her yokai form is a giant black dog without a tail and a human-like face.

Lord Daiouika-A giant squid daiyokai who was hibernating for several centuries after an intense battle in which he killed his archenemy, a whale yokai, but nearly died himself. In his weakened state he as been corrupted by the evil unleashed by the Zodiac.

Momoko: An ubume (the ghost of a woman who died in childbirth and remained in the world of the living to look after her children) whose children were killed when one of the Hunters destroyed their village. Her anger and desire for revenge prevents her from moving on to the afterlife to join them and has sent her on killing spree of everything that isn’t a human child. She appears as a very pale woman in a white robe whose disheveled hair completely covers her face.

The rest of these are spirits from Chinese mythology, but since much of Japanese mythology is based on Chinese I don't think it would be much of a stretch to say that their ancestors moved from the continent. The names I’ve given are the names of the individuals, not the species.

Tai-i: A jade spirit who was bound to a man when he stabbed her in the chest with a dagger of peach wood and called out her name. Her husband was killed by the Zodiac and she now wanders the land turning humans into jade statues in an attempt to extract the revenge she could never get on her despised dead husband. She appears as a beautiful woman in blue clothing with eyes the color of jade.

Kurakuchitou: A spirit of gold who takes the form of a two-headed pig. He is normally a creature ambivalent to humans, but because of the Zodiac spreading evil, he has been enticing humans with promises of riches and then turning them into gold.

EDIT: I'm also kind of curious what you'll do at the end of this arc. Will the Scourge and their new allies be returning home to Halloween World just in time to join the fight against the remaining members of the Dark Council or will you have us vote on new worlds for them to find? Or will it be something else?

Hmm, Kagura's back. That could become interesting.

As for yokai...

Daidara-bocchi: a legendary giant whose footprints said to be responsible for the creation of many lakes, hollows and ponds. He was a benevolent creature, but the influence of the Castle Lords has corrupted him completely.

Sune-kosuri: Small furry creatures known for mischievously tripping people who are in a hurry. The coming of the Castle Lords has transformed them into huge, vicious creatures.

Abura-sumashi: A goblin-like creature with a head shaped like a potato who carries around a bottle of oil. The Castle Lords' influence has turned it into an insane arsonist.

Awesome chapter ^_^

Unfortunately, I'm out of yokai ideas for now, but http://www.obakemono.com/ is a great source for various supernatural creatures of Japan, though I think I might've already suggested most of the interesting ones.

The only theme I could come up with are creatures corresponding to the Shinobi countries:

The Fire Country: Basan-A giant fire-breathing chicken that dwells in bamboo groves.
The Water Country: Bake-kujira-A skeletal whale surrounded by odd fish and bird yokai.
The Lightning Country: Raiju: A white and blue wolf surrounded by lightning.
The Wind Country: Kama-itachi: Sickle weasels (I know you’ve used them before, but bear with me -_-)
The Earth Country: A golem composed of rock and brought to life by malevolent magic. Not an actually yokai from folklore, but you just had a doro-ta-bo last chapter.

Also, I’d like to know if Sesshomaru will be showing up eventually or if there’s a chance you would somehow resurrect Kagura? Perhaps Dosei and co. could bring back Naraku’s incarnations to take on the heroes and Kagura and Kanna turn on their brothers and sisters. I just really love the wind sorceress.

Review:
Doro-ta-bo
-The spirit of a farmer whose lands were left to ruin after he died. He came back in a body of mud to reclaim his lands.

Ao-bozu
-A large-headed, one-eyed monk that is said to carry off children

Itsumaden
-A creature formed from the bitter spirits of those who died during a plague with their bodies abandoned and forgotten. It has the tail of a snake, a human-like face with a large face, a five foot wingspan, and claws like daggers. It can breathe fire and flies around screaming in an eerie voice “How much longer?!”

Well, these ideas come from animals used as substitutions in the zodiacs of other Asian countries.

Duc-A Vietnamese cat yokai who was visiting Japan. He encountered Tama while she was collecting energy and fell in love (or possibly just lust) with her and attacks the heroes in order to impress her. In his human form he is an orange haired bishonen in fine silk garments. In his true form he is a one tailed cat slightly smaller than Kilala with striped orange fur.

Trai-A Vietnamese water buffalo yokai who came to Japan centuries ago to look for Inu no Taishou in order to gain revenge for the death of a friend. He was trapped by a monk in a cave and is found and released by Kurando to distract both the Zodiac and the protagonists. His human form is a man of medium build in peasant's clothes with dark brown hair and dark eyes. His true form is a water buffalo of impressive size that makes the most of its bulk and enormous horns.

Mongkut-A Thai naga (a cobra-like snake spirit) who ended up in Japan due to a freak storm. He is actually good, but Mae used her powers of deception to trick him into thinking the good guys are evil (he fights the Zodiac of his own accord because he can tell for certain that they are evil). His human form is a Buddhist monk in an orange robe and his true form is a Manda-sized cobra. His venom is so potent that even just skin contact will kill anyone who isn't a daiyokai or Kagome-level miko/priest/monk/etc.

Review:
Sweet chapter, I really like the new digimon.

Theme: The Three Children of Izanagi and Izanami, (or yokai impersonating them anyway) plus the Regalia

Amaterasu: A beautiful woman with pale skin and fiery red hair. She wears a fine kimono of red, yellow, and orange. She has power over fire and wields a mirror she claims to be Yata no Kagami which she uses as a shield. Her true form is a giant red and gold wolf. She is extremely vulnerable at night.

Tsukuyomi: A handsome man who wears fine black clothing. He uses water attacks (since the moon controls the tides) and the ability to create total darkness in a certain area. He wears a necklace of beads he claims to be the Yasakani no Magatama which enhances his power. His true form is a black and white sea serpent. He is extremely vulnerable during the day.

Susanoo: A fierce-looking warrior in samurai armor. He has power over wind and lightning and is able to call up storms. He wields a sword that he claims to be Kusanagi no Tsurugi. His true form is a giant white albatross. He becomes extremely vulnerable if his storm clouds are dispersed.

Happy New Year! I hope your computer problems get fixed soon. Anyway, on to yokai ideas:

A nure-onna, a snake with the head of a woman

A hainu, a winged dog that swoops out of the sky to attack people

A shojo, a humanoid creature covered in red hair. They are normally benevolent and love to drink sake. However, in this case someone (Morinji?) stole all of his sake and the withdrawal symptoms have turned him evil.

An ao-nyobo, a blue-skinned female ghoul with a wide mouth, blackened teeth, and no eyebrows that loves to devour young men

A nuri-botoke, a creature that resembles a Buddha statue, but with shiny black skin, a fish’s tail, and eyes that hang from its sockets

The arc’s starting to pick up, I can’t wait until the next update to see how this all turns out.

Yokai ideas:

Ittan-momen (Ghost cotton)
-A strip of cloth 10 meters long that wraps itself around its victim’s face to suffocate them.

Ao-Sagi-Bi (Blue Heron Fire)
-A heron with flaming red eyes and feathers that glow with supernatural light

Aka-shita (Red Tongue)
-A beast with sharp teeth and a huge red tongue that appears out of a black cloud

Yama-uba (Mountain Hag)
-An oni-like woman who feasts on humans whose mouth is split up to her ears

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Wow...just wow. That was a really exciting chapter and I really like seeing the Inuyasha group’s kids. Very nice work and the fact that the yokai I’ve suggested just make me squee. Thank you so much!

Well, I’m kind of running low on Eastern theme villains, but since you’ve already delved into Western mythology, how about the Western zodiac as a counterpoint to the Chinese zodiac? Possible explanations: they are enemies of Dosei and his subordinates, but still evil or they are guardians of the Chinese zodiac animals that the bad guys trick the good guys into killing.

Aries the Ram, counter to the Dragon
An anthropomorphic red ram wearing armor decorated with flame pattern and wielding a flaming sword.

Taurus the Bull, counter to the Snake
A minotaur with brown fur that wears a dark brown armor and uses raw strength and its horns.

Gemini the Twins, counter to the Horse
Two female humanoid yokai resembling modern fantasy elves who are linked by a magic bond that prevents them from straying too far from each other. One is tan with dark hair and dark eyes with black armor and a crossbow. The other is blonde with light blue eyes and fair skin who wears a flowing white robe and wields a longbow.

Cancer the Crab, counter to the Sheep
A disturbing-looking creature that is humanoid in basic shape, but has a shell around its body and has crab claws for hands.

Leo the Lion, counter to the Monkey
An anthropomorphic lion wearing royal clothing and a crown who uses its fangs and razor sharp claws.

Virgo the Virgin, counter to the Rooster
A grain spirit that takes the form of a young woman with light brown hair. She has control over herbaceous plants and limited power over wooden ones.

Libra the Scales, counter to the Dog
A set of scales that has enslaved a host yokai to carry them around. They trap their enemies in an illusion and measure them against some unknowable standard. Only someone of great purity can withstand the weighing and survive, though someone of great power can over the power of the scales even if they fail the weighing.

Scorpio the Scorpion, counter to the Pig
A black scorpion the size of a horse with claws that can crush all but the hardest materials and venom that can harm even daiyokai.

Sagittarius the Archer, counter to the Rat
A gray-haired centaur with a bow and arrow. Unlike Horse, his human and horse parts are very distinct.

Capricorn the Goat-Fish, counter to the Ox
A creature with the upper body of a goat and the lower body of a fish.

Aquarius the Water Bearer, counter to the Tiger
A jar of water that has become a Tsukumogami-like creature that can use water as a weapon and to form an ice construct to carry it around.

Pisces the Fish, counter to the Rabbit
An enormous fish large enough to swallow ships whole and can spit huge jets of water at extremely high pressure.

Sorry for the scant details on some of them, but I know you’re very good at working with the stuff I give you ^_^

Well, I hope you had a happy birthday.

My yokai ideas this are based on the Sannin, and to some extent the folk tale on which they are based: A giant snail yokai with a diamond-like shell and acid slime that is both secreted from its body and fired from its mouth, a huge toad yokai that uses its tongue offensively, and an eight headed and eight tailed giant serpent based on Yamata no Orochi (admittedly not from Jiraiya Goketsu Monogatari, but a snake from Japanese mythology nonetheless).
