Review of chapter "'Everything that isn't nailed down'" from JenosIdanian
Review:
So I Guess we can expect a chapter every year? Come on! Dont mean to give you a hard time but I really would like another chapter...
Comments from author:
Hey, great timing.
You caught me just as I was about to sit down and write something else, and since I'm easily deflected, this story bumped the other one. The new chapter is now half-done, and I'm hoping to make some major progress today.
If all goes well, you should see it posted this weekend.

ETA: Annnnnd.... There you go.

Review:
One of my favourite novels is If on a Winter's Night A Traveler by Italo Calvino. The main character is only referred to as The Reader and he's trying to read the new novel If on a Winters Night a Traveler by Italo Calvino. But he soon realises he's started reading the wrong story. Most of the novel is him reading the first chapter of a story and wanting to finish it then starting a new story he also wants to finish. I guess there is something attractive to authors in a beginning. For readers it can get a little frustrating because your torn between getting sucked into a new story while old favourites remain unfinished. I'm still eagerly anticipating new chapters in the Faithverse as well as Harmony Super Goddess. But this story pulled me in despite myself. Dawn's utter dependence on Buffy is very believable as is her anguish over the seeming victory of Buffy's return turning to ashes at her sisters complete detachment from the world. The cheese was a great touch to a terribly frightening little scene, that really brought home Buffy's passivity. Dawn's motivations are well thought out and the comedy of the breast implants comments was undercut by Dawn's obvious pain at Buffy's carelessness. I knew you couldn't go a chapter without mentioning Faith. Not that I'm complaining. I also enjoyed Willow's mystical babble. A lot of motivations were set up in this chapter. I thought having Dawn be claustrophobic because of her memories of being the key. Given that you expressly state Dawn's motivation for her kleptomania is the emptiness she feels at Buffy's death and the close mystical bond between them. Whose heart is the spell meant to heal? I would like to applaud Dawn's sentiment when reading the tome. Stories should change the reader. I'm eagerly anticipating the next chapter.

Hey, thanks for another nice review!

Yeah, I really didn't need to start another story, did I? Though I sort of hoped this would be a tiny little one-chapter deal... which turned out to be not the case.
I like how this one is going so far, though. I feel for Dawn, I can understand where she's coming from, with the dependence, the lonliness, the stealing, the frustration... all of it. And then, suddenly, a shiny new toy that might fix everything! Heck, *I'd* try some spells, if it seemed like they might solve all of the problems, so I can't blame Dawn for taking a chance.
Now I just need to find the focus to keep going with this... or with any of the other stories, actually.

Aw, thanks!

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure how this one will go.
I've got ideas, but nothing is set in stone till I get there.

First of all, I was surprised at how true to cannon your story was. Well, at least at first. I like your Dawn and also like how everything she is doing is actually because she is trying to help Buffy. I always thought the cannon Xander, Anya, Willow, and even Tara didn't really see how much Buffy was hurting when she came back from Heaven. I'm not sure where you are going with your story, but I am willing to go along with kinky you because this is a surprisingly sweet story.
Comments from author:
Hey, I ALWAYS write sweet stories!
(Well, okay, not always-always, but I can when I want to)

Thanks for giving this one a chance.

Review:
Very nice. Quite well-written, I'd say, and I like the plot heavy approach. A very believable reason for incest, and hey, Dawn practically IS Buffy, so what's the harm in a little self-love? Can't wait for more.

I like the way you think.
^_^

Thanks.
Second chapters are always, ALWAYS much easier if there's evidence that people are wanting more.

Review:
This is a very good start. It was interesting to read about the early S6 events from Dawn's POV, especially with the way you've made her so emotionally dependent on Buffy. I particularly enjoyed the imagery of the faerie lights and the way Dawn seemed to become more and more fae after rubbing the dust all over herself. I half expected her appearance to be altered (more than just her hair), but it was still nicely done.

I almost think you could have marked this as a crossover with myths or fairytales. There are plenty of similar tales about faeries and magic.
Comments from author:
Hey, thanks!
Yep, I'm exaggerating the dependence on Buffy a bit, but I think there are enough bits and pieces of that in the series to make it semi-belivable.

--I half expected her appearance to be altered (more than just her hair), but it was still nicely done.--
That would be NEXT chapter.
^_^!

Crossover... yeah, I thought about labelling it as a crossover with 'Art; Nene Thomas', but I'm not sure that's a valid category. Fairytales, sure, but can you crossover with a genre, as opposed to a specific tale?
Not sure, and it's not that critical.
I'm just happy to be getting some positive reaction.
People are (thankfully) more tolerant than I'd feared.
