----Poor Buffy. I really think that basement was a really bad black magic spell (obviously, what white spell needs a dismembered corpse?) to bring someone back from the dead. She's so traumatized. Did the spell erase her memory of her past, to? Or is it the shock of it all that's left her like this. She hasn't finished a single sentence yet, has she? I think the boys are starting to realize this.

Poor Nathaniel, poor white haired man (I don't know his name). I hope Buffy lets them follow her. But I can see how she would feel so overwhelmed; it seems she doesn't remember her time as the Slayer, but she has a physical memory of always being 'needed' for protection, leadership, and just in general and now she's plopped in a strange place and being begged by two strangers for protection. Overwhelming.


I liked this chapter and I think I like this story. I would still really like another update on Ebb, though. That story is so good!

Was the silver cicles stars and bloody sacrifice a ritual to bring Buffy over to this place? Is that why she's naked and disorientated? Was it a spell to bring her-or something and it snatched at Buffy instead-back to life?


Hmmm. Yes, there is a bit of hate being felt for starting a new story, but there's also piqued interest and happiness to see you doing Anita Blake rather than another Troy one. (I haven't seen Troy, and would have no interest to except I want to know what's going on with that story line enough to read your stories...)

In any case, great story. I never actually read the AB books, but I've read plenty of fanfic on it, so I take that Anita didn't assume the Nimir-Ra position until a bit of time had pased after Gabriel and Raina were killed? Buffy as Nimir-Ra ... definitely an interesting idea. It just lends itself towards all sorts of confrontations. Jean-Claude, Anita, Richard, Asher...

it's interesting that they think she's a leopard. Then again, when B. met her 'spirit guide' it appeared as a great cat...and there are lots of little hints in that direction --Restless, "Miss Kitty Fantastico" stuff like that--so it actually makes sense....
Of course she's never shifted...but maybe she's like Anita in that respect...has the spirit but doesn't actually shift. Just all the advantages--strength, healing etc. Hm, no aversion to silver has ever been shown. I wonder what a blood test would reveal? ie in Anita's world, they can check for that sort of thing....
RPIT should get involved once they find the body..... and even in St. Louis the desk clerk might remember her being all covered in drive blood and stuff........
Is this before or after Nathaniel has met Anita?

I'm assuming it's Buffy because the story is listed under Buffy centric...I'm thinking a spell caused her to cross dimensions?? or just locations? Either way, she is completely befuddled. I can't help but wonder why Zane and Nathaniel think that she is a Were-Leopard?

So this is how it begins... At the beginning I was like what was going on.. it seems so ominous and surreal.. then buffy is introduced to nathaniel... it is really interesting to see how buffy is reacting.. she is in a strange situation and is trying to find a phone book but she helps other even though she is in need of help herself... i cant wait to see what happens next.

You know, not once have you used the protagonist's name? That said, I like it. It's very visceral.

So...Veruca has been brought back to life! ... it's obviously Anya...ok, maybe not... or more likely somebody beat Willow to the resurrection spell? from a different dimension?

And once somebody finds the body, RPIT then Anita will get called in...I sure hope Buffy or whoever gets rid of all the evidence she's wearing....though likely she left fingerprints & stuff..

Wow, I'm definitely interested. It'll be neat to see her replace Anita for that role, cause frankly, Anita sucked at her duty most times.
