*Wonderfully* satisfying conclusion. I like that D'Hoffryn suffered for so long before he destroyed himself. Great job; a well-considered plot and fun characterizations.

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
And Xander can be *extremely* vindictive when he wants to be. ;-)
Payback is a bitch or in this case a seriously pissed off Xander. Great story by the way.

I loved the names of the books -- 'The Prophecies of Agamotto', 'Chronicles of the Vishanti'...did Doctor Strange contribute some volumey texts to the Watchers' Library? ;)
Comments from author:
Yep, you got it. They've got an inter-library loan program going together. ;-)

Hey Greywizard, great finish to an excellent read. Solid overall and as I've mentioned before an inspired concept that both challenges what we accept as the Buffyverse while expanding it at the same time. Take a bow and accept the applause that is to follow as you outdid yourself here. (Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap)
Thanks again for the fun.

Very nice! I remember reading a book that had a spinning disk draw magic just to drain it. But in that book, magic was finite; and once magic was gone, it was gone. I don't remember the name of the story though. Heh, you'd think that with the release of so much magic, giant magical storms and new creatures would develop in places away from the ground zeros. Anyways, great story!

Glad you enjoyed it. The story was Larry Niven's 'The Magic Goes Away,' and I believe the manna regenerated over the course of several eons.

Wow thats a nasty idea make a magic nuke and give the target the key to activate it. wonder how long it will be before they start using them in other places think the wolf ram and hart might like a few.
Comments from author:
Yep, getting the target to off themselves is the best way to do it, isn't it? ;-)
Oh... that was good. (muhhahahaha - cackling away evilly here and loving every minute of it) To give hope there only to have the hope be worse even then the ailment... man! Very, very nice. :D
thanks so much for sharing, Marns ~pN

He got SERIOUS vengeance! I love how he kept the planning low key and out of sight until he was ready to move. I'm a bit surprised Willow and Buffy didn't have some issues with basically wiping out a whole dimension - demons or not.
If you decide to do a companion piece, it might be interesting to see exactly what he did to/threatened/showed the Gypsies that secured such unilateral cooperation from them for any future Council needs.
My only question is the ending - when did Buffy become immortal ("...Xander and Buffy Harris reveling in the ever-increasing multiplicity of generations...)? I can see it as a leftover byproduct of being a vampire for Xander, and possibly Dawn since the Key is eternal, maybe even Willow since she tied into the Earth and used a Goddess-level of magic to activate the potentials.
Comments from author:
Yeah, Xander didn't just do things by halves, did he? ;-)
And as far as the potential genocide of a demon race was concerned, I don't see any of the Scoobies having much of a problem with it since it was a race of demons who went out of their way to cause pain and suffering for humans.
And as far as your question about Buffy and Xander being immortal is concerned, I was simply referring to their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Have to admire the shark... sorry, I mean shrink... recommending "go for the pain". Clearly he's worked with the slayers for some time; enough to have learned that there's some things you can't talk them out of! Nicely done.
Comments from author:
Yep, Silberman has been working with Slayers and their associates for a while now. And after learning about Xander's background, he realized that the chances of Xander not wanting to get payback were less than nil. And with that fact recognized, he figured the best thing to do was recommend going slow and make sure that he do things right. ;-)
Glad you're enjoying the story.
