Oh, wow. That was great. Catherine is my favorite character next to Grissom. The only thing better than having Buffy be her sister is if she was going to be Catherine's daughter...and Grissom's.

you realize that even if she found evidence with the DNA swab, her methods of acquiring it would never have been accepted in court. No Miranda rights, no warrant, etc.

I doubt most judges would have any problem accepting the evidence. Buffy wasn't under arrest, so no reading of the Miranda rights was necessary, and she consented to the DNA swab. But for the purposes of this story, it's purely academic, as nothing Catherine finds in Buffy's DNA will come up in court.
