Yay for Anya and her honesty! (And I love that she was researching schools to do the best job she could of taking care of Dawn.) Can't wait to see how Dawn will take to Xavier's School.
Neat. And Dawn did raise an interesting point, she might be a mutant herself. Though that would get tied in with the whole "Key" thing also, huge source of energy inside her. She's around 14/15 at this point, so she might be about to 'manifest'. Trying to think if any X-Man would qualify as a "seer" (since they + insane people can 'see' her as a ball of glowing energy). Scott probably has weird vision what with the eyebeams/visor? And I bet Spike will haunt the vicinity of the school-he promised Buffy to protect Dawn and doesn't much like the scoobies anyway (so why hang around them) ...
Comments from author:
Oh yes, Spike will be around, the only reason he isn't there at the moment is because it is daytime ... it should be fun.
As for the mutant thing, yes, she'll be manifesting soon. As for Scotty, I never really thought about it. Something for me to dwell on. - D

I adore it! Anya is so sweet, I think she's one of those characters we frequently misunderstand some of the quirks of, and I think you've captured it perfectly (to me at least) that there are explanations to some of those quirks! And I love that Hank isn't so big n nasty. Plus blue fur, way cute! Anyways, keep em coming! =P Sophx

I didn't know that Einstein was one of your heroes, anyway I am glad you liked the quote I used.
I have just started to end all my comments with a quote of some kind. You could say it is a newly formed habit of mine, anyway there will be more quotes and some of them might even be Albert Einstein ones.
By the way, I got more Einstein quotes in my blog in which I store my quote collection and you can find it by visiting my profile.

Really like the concept. I thought the challenge was an interesting one too.
I liked the way Hank found out about Joyce and Buffy, though I do think it should be fleshed-out. There's so much potential there for reasoning and Dawn's family obligations and all of that, I'd like to read more. It just feels like the chapter is missing something.
The ending was what I felt broke my suspension of disbelief. Hank rocking a twelve-year-old Dawn I can imagine, but a fifteen-year-old? She's a little old for that, even if she's sad and traumatized, not enough build-up and explanation of her emotions for me to believe it. I know, it's an incredibly tiny detail, but it bothers me.
Comments from author:
I'm sorry it bothers you. I was already planning to change her age to 14 but I'm not going lower than that. As for the sad and traumatized, I didn't flesh anything about her because she is numb. At least that's what I tried (and failed) to do. As I've said to a few others, I will go back and flesh it out, I'm working on it now actually, but I honestly wrote that chapter in about twenty minutes while on lunch at work, so it's got few kinks I'm trying to straighten out. - D

This is a different spin on the missing father scenario and I am already looking forward to see where you will take this story.

I honestly don't know how to respond to that. Einstein is one of my heroes, and that you used a quote from him to compliment me .... it makes me feel something beyond words. - D

I love your story I love to read stories were Hank is not the bad guy and wish there were more like this. Will they still bring Buffy back from the dead and if so will she stay in Sunnydale or go with Dawn?
Comments from author:
Yes to the first, I don't know about the second ... something to think on. Though it wont be for at least a few chapters because B wasn't resurrected until a few months after she died. I don't remember from the show, I should go watch ... - D

Nice, I like this view to Buffy's family problems and Beast has always been one of my favorite X-Men. Don't worry I got the clue that Joyce still loved Hank. I'm guessing your going to put Hank's attempts to find a cure to his Mutation was mostly so he could be with his family. Don't know about Wills ranting about Mutants when she is Jewish lesbian Witch, might go more in depth about that. But still a good start and I'd like to see where this goes.
Comments from author:
I'll go more in depth, Willow wasn't ranting about the evils of mutants, it's more worry that they're going to bring even more trouble down on Dawn. - D
