Brilliant. I so sympathised with John's dithering between laughing and homicide! I think you had Rodney's deranged way of speaking down pat - I could easily hear his voice coming through.

Thanks! Rodney is great and fun but I think I like him more because I don't have to deal with him on a daily basis. :-)

That was awesome! I had a grin on my face the whole time I read it! I loved that poor John's brain was almost broken by the idea of a witch back on Earth. And I loved how McKay was so matter of fact about the magic! Just wonderful!
Comments from author:
Thanks! Poor John keeps on thinking he's reached the final weirdness of the universe but it just keeps getting worse. Hee.

This was just way cool and so unexpected. That's not a connection I ever expected.
Comments from author:
Thanks for the review. It was a connection that I really wanted to read, so when I didn't find anyone else having written it, I figured I had to do so.

I love the fact it's Rodney that's on the side of magic!
Great stuff, a sequel wouldn't go amiss!
Comments from author:
Thanks for the review. One of the (many, many) reasons I love Rodney, is that as melodramatic as he can be, he's also really matter-of-fact about some rather crazy science. I can see him seeing magic, testing it, and deciding, okay, that's real, what's next?

That was BRILLIANT! Very enjoyable, I liked seeing Rodney as the one who knew about magic! And his one sided conversations and willow-esque babbled explanations were great! You had everyone in character and interacting well! If htere was any more, I would like to see it, but no pressure! thanks for sharing! love xx Shezzi

Thanks! It was a lot of fun to write. And that one-sided conversation was my favorite part, too.
I thought this was delightful and would be very happy for a "When John finally met Willow" follow-up or a "When Mackay met Willow" prequel. Either done in this vein should be a hoot!

Thanks for the review. I'll see what I can do about, hmm, probably a prequel. Although probably not soon, too many other stories floating around in my head.

I'd love to see a follow up where they make it back to Earth and John tries to convince Rodney to introduce him...
Whether or not he gets a chance to (ie: if she's busy with stopping world endage or not) would determine if he's forevermore teased about his 'immaginary friend Willow'... snicker.
Comments from author:
Oh, that would be awesome! Either busy with world-savage or maybe just finished with it and completely wiped out, so unable to demonstrate any magic. So John can tease Rodney, and Rodney can be all defensive:
"I'll admit she's a real person but she's not the witch you described to me. Are you that other Willow isn't just your imaginary friends? She's the one who can do magic?" John teased. Much to his delight, it got Rodney all huffy.
"It's magic, not science. I always told you it was wishy-washy. Science can be duplicated by anyone at anytime. Magic is all sometimes and only by some people. It's a stupid field of study."
"You're just jealous that you can't do magic," John taunted, remembering their first conversation about magic.
