I would have preferred if Xander had gotten them, along with Cordelia, but ah well.

1)
On German style pumpernickel and other sour dough based breads (One generic German term is "Schwarzbrot" black bread, but that can have a different meaning in South Germany):

- these sorts of breads are not eaten fresh. You often can't cut these sorts of bread when fresh. These sorts of bread are made from rye and sour dough, and stay eatable up to a month without an ice box. You usually make them in large batches.
- old style pumpernickel takes 16 to 20 hours to bake at a very low temperature. It is more cooked than baked. Xander could make one batch on day one, take it out of the oven on day two, and they could start eating it on day three.
But making only one or two breads for a test run might be sensible.

The classical German style bread categories are:
- white bread: like toast bread or French style bread, rolls. Wheat and yeast based. To be eaten fresh.
- gray bread: mixed wheat and rye or whole wheat based. Uses yeast, and some sour dough. Can be kept three days.
- black bread or rye bread: rye and sour dough based. Can be stored at least up to a month. Tastes still well after a week.

Modern German style bread adds:
- multi grain bread: gray bread made fancy by adding different sorts of grain, decorating with full grains, using whole grain flour, ...

maize is normally not used in German style bread. That was limited to just after WW2, when the US Administrators asked the Germans, what the most urgent request was. The Germans asked for Korn (which can be any of rye, wheat, oats, barley, buckwheat), and the Americans delivered Corn (maize), which mostly used as hogwash in Germany.

German Korn and US Corn have exactly the same pronunciation.

2)
A German style meal is either a hot one, where you have potatoes, rice, noodles or dumplings as a side dish; or a cold bread based one.
Having bread with a warm dish is limited to some specific dishes like scrambled or fried eggs or Knipp or Grützwurst, where the bread is used to soak up the fat or the water.
My Grandparents who lived through WW1 and WW2 considered bread relatively expensive food. Only one meal out of five was bread based.
With Kurt growing up in South Germany, his recipes would nearly always have noodles or dumplings even if they have potatoes.

Having bread as a side dish to a warm meal is normal in French style and in Italian style cooking.

Review:
This is a great story, I was a bit disappointed by the ending but just because I really liked the characters and wanted more.

I love what you did with Xander (and Ben), found the mix of action, drama and comedy to be great.

Thanks for a wonderful story and I hope someday you do a sequel!

So I'm rereading this and basically lost it during the golf match. I very desperately want that scene drawn. In a perfect world, by John Romita Jr.

Stay creative my friend.

Review:
so, i cant remember if I've reviewed any of your stories before, its been so long since the first time i read them. You are a great author and i want to start by saying thank you. I do love your writing style, even crossovers i normally never read, such as Anita Blake. I cannot stand Anita Blake, and most of the Xander-centered x-overs are slash, so two strikes right there... but i gave yours a try and loved it.

If i had any complaints, it would be that stories like Repossessed, Awaken Sleeper..., Child of Rao(Book 2) and Son of Spengler are incomplete, but your putting out new stories. The new stories are good(other than your one story i don't like, the Tales From The Crypt one...) but id LOVE to see some of your unfinished work, well finished, with your normal quality.

Anyways, thank you for your amazing work, your stories are great

Review:
This story was interesting and it was a great read. But you added way too many characters, and that just made it harder to have a focus on the Scooby's as a result. It became less about what Xander did, and more about the Marvel characters as a result. Xander pretty much stopped interacting with the supernatural and BtVS is all about the supernatural. Still, good story.

Review:
That story was definitely a great read. I love how powerful you made Xander and that he and Cordy ended up together. I also love what you did with Ben, Jennifer, and Felicia. You definitely turned the Marvel verse on the head but I prefer your version to Lee's. I don't really like the deal those characters got in cannon. Thanks for sharing.

Review of chapter "Chapter 28" from SledgeHammer
Review:
If I were Charles Xavier, I'd be horked off, too. Eric Lensherr *will* be horked off when he finds out. Yes; *that* Lensherr. AKA the Master of Magnetism. Backstory (not retcon) - back before the founding of the Xavier School, Xavier and Lensherr were actually working for one Simon Weisenthal; in Lensherr's case, the reason was quite personal (he was a survivor of the Holocaust - specifically, Bergen Belsen; the scar is from the tattoo). It's why, despite their disagreement, Xavier understands Eric all too well (and why he understands what Xander has to do all too well).
