Review:
This is one of the few Chuck crossover that I enjoy. Based on your rate of update, I look forward to the next update as well. I also look forward to seeing what Sarah's relationship with Xander is. Also if Lou will be coming back or not.
Comments from author:
Thank you! I definitely appreciate it!

I can tell you that Sarah will likely not encounter Xander for a while. It's just more fun letting the anticipation rise that way, especially since I've already mentioned (in other comments) that the 'past' interaction between them will be fairly minor, because otherwise it would have had farther-reaching effects on... well, at the very least on Sarah.

As for Lou/Colleen, I can pretty much guarantee that she will be coming back at some point. I have some plans ruminating in my head for her, but they're not really in anything but the very basics stage, so it's likely that it will also be a while until that happens.

Review:
Excellent use of acting roles for a solid tie in between the two.
Comments from author:
I can't really take all the credit for it. A long while ago, I was contemplating a different fanfic, one that starts from Buffy season one and starts changing from there. I didn't remember Xander's 'erotic' dream and popped in my DVD to rewatch it, and got to thinking 'she looks really familiar.' About both of them. The information just stuck. So when I was looking for a link between the two series, that popped into mind.

Well Wu could be the cousin of the Chinese slayer?
Comments from author:
If you mean Chao-Ahn, she isn't. Julia Ling played the potential credited as 'power potential'. Whatever else Anna might be, I'm not saaaaaaaaying. ;)

I like the April 1 as the birthday... there must be something in his chart for flexibilty, though. As Aries are more than just stubborn and always having to be right in its main characteristic.
Comments from author:
When I was deciding on Xander's birthday, I was looking up the astrological signs while I was doing it. I was using wikipedia because it was available. I looked at these 'associated traits' that seemed to fit Xander: courage, impulsivity, enthusiasm, leadership. I could definitely make cases for impatience and stubborn too, not to mention straight-forward. Xander isn't all that sneaky most of the time, but when he is, it's usually because he's hiding his own embarrassment (like at the end of The Pack).

Review:
Like the feel of what you have so far, but am wondering a few things.

1) Are you going to portray Anna as either Chao Ahn or a relation of hers? That would seem to be the only way to explain the appearance and why it is ringing something in the back of Xander's mind.

2) Are you setting up Sarah as Buffy? Another slayer? Another Sunnydale High alum? What does this do to the Chuck story an ep or two ago about her past and high school before she started working for the CIA? If that is being forgotten then an A/N would be needed to clarify it before you are accused of purposefully misleading us readers.

Can't wait to see Xander's reaction to Morgan. Am thinking that it could be fun as a poke at his Andrew similarities.

3) Oh any other Scoobs to arrive? It might be better to have it as more of a Scooby inserted into the Chuckverse then them invading. Keeping Wes to a minimum is probably for the best, but how did he survive Not Fade Away? Is he resurrected?

4) Don't know if the thought would work, but for me it would be funny/fun to have Xander possibly threaten the relationship between Chuck's sister and Captain Awsome. Awsome has those moments of insecurity that seem to make his character more humorous. Don't know why, but that is the best they do when his fear or insecurity cause him to seek out advice from Morgan when Chuck isn't about. Even a date that has Morgan and Awsome watching trying to thwart would be too much.

Hope it keeps flowing and thanks for what you have given us so far. Looking forward to what is to come.
Comments from author:
Well, please understand that I can't answer some of those, since they spoil part of the upcoming story. That said, I'll answer what I can. Assume the rest is stuff I don't want to give away yet. :)

1) Actually, Julia Ling did not portray Chao-Ahn. That was Kristy Wu, according to IMDB. In BtVS, Julia is credited as "Power Potential." I'm not quite sure why that is yet. I'm sure there's a reason, but I haven't gotten to season 7 in my rewatching of episodes yet, at least not enough to remind me.

2) This one I've already answered in part: Sarah Walker is not and never has been a Slayer. I'll add that she's not a Sunnydale High alum either.

Xander's reaction to Morgan will be... something that will be covered in the next chapter. The beginnings of it, at least. Morgan's a part about where this fic is gonna take a left turn into weird-ville.

3) At this point, I'm not particularly planning the appearance of any of the Scoobies or other members of the Fang Gang in anything but flashbacks, but don't hold me to that, because I can't give any guarantees. I wasn't planning that Willow flashback either, but it just came out while I was writing chapter 4.

Actually, come to think of it, I'll take that back. Both Wes and Willow will show up in at least one more flashback.

4) That's something I hadn't thought about too much. I could also take a couple of shots at McPartlin (Awesome)'s previous career as a couple of in-jokes. Ryan McPartlin used to be on Passions. Of course, that would work best if I had Spike make a showing. That's unlikely to happen, as I don't particularly like Spike. (Spuffy gave me the outright skeevies, if you catch my drift.)

It isn't a bad idea for Ellie and Xander to go on a date, so I'll probably steal it. Thanks! I'll have to think about how to arrange it, though. Then again, maybe that means I'd have to turn her into some kind of demon as well, considering Xander's normal romantic interludes. Maybe even make both Ellie and Chuck have some demon blood in them or something - it might explain why Chuck's retention rate is so high in the first place.

Chances are that, if I can make it work, it probably won't be for a while. We're still on the first day, after all. Heck, we're still in the first 'hour' of the fic.

Thanks for the review, and for reading! I'm enjoying writing this more than I thought, and sharing it with others is fun too!

I'm looking forward to seeing where you are going with this one. I vaguely remember the show this is based on, only saw the adds though. I did like the secret chest idea, just because an idea comes from a fictional source doesn't mean it doesn't have merit.
Comments from author:
I'm guessing that you mean Chuck as the show you're not entirely familiar with. If you like, you can check it out at these URLs:

http://www.nbc.com/Chuck/

The secret chest idea basically came to me when I was thinking 'well, what kind of stuff would Soldier-Boy Xander suggest to help with security' and went from there.

This story get more interesting chapter by chapter !!
Will Xander be unloading a HUGE supply of Twinkies ? or his secret weapon stash ?
Frankly I'm still wondering the link between W&H/Xander/Buy More.. Bah...
Keep writing please !! I'll be tuned !
Comments from author:
Thank you! I appreciate it!

I'd actually intended to get a bit farther today (as I mentioned in one of my other comments), but that felt like a good place to stop.

I wasn't intending to have him bring in any Twinkies, but I think I'll steal that now and include it as well. ;)

The link between W&H and Buy More is actually mostly resolved. I figure Wolfram and Hart has to have *some* non-evil clients (especially with the Angel crew working there), and Buy More is just one of them. That's not the complete story, of course, but this is really a case of serendipity: Xander needed someone who looked official (or, at least, more official than a one-eyed carpenter) and someone who was capable of magic, and Wesley fit the bill. Sort of killing two birds with one stone.

Getting interesting now. Looks like our mysterious Mr. Harris might be one of the good guys. But Sarah Walker looks like she might have a few bombs of her own to drop...

Was she a Slayer at any point of her life?

Also, it's fun to see John Casey freak out like that... :P

Looking forward to Chapter Three...

Vandevere
Comments from author:
I can honestly say that Sarah Walker has never been a Slayer at any point in her life.

Which is not to say that none of the potentials-turned-Slayers are going to show up.

In any case, Sarah does have history with Xander (obviously), but it's going to be fairly minor, since I don't want to make much in the way of canon changes either in Chuck or in Buffy history.

And it was fun *writing* John Casey freaking out like that.

Chapter three is coming - hopefully tomorrow - and that's when the weird stuff really starts to happen.

Interesting premise.

I wouldn't mind seeing more.

To be fair, the grand majority of the first chapter is me spinning directly from the episode in question. I hope you'll like the second chapter, just posted. And beyond, of course. And, as always, all C&C is welcome!

Yikes! Wolfram and Hart? Methinks I scent complications for Casey...

Please tell me he's not Marcus Hamilton in disguise... :O

Comments from author:
Heh. Actually, I'd completely forgotten that Adam Baldwin played a character on Angel - it's been a while since I've watched the series.

But now that you've reminded me, maybe I'll mix that into the story too. (Of course, that means I have to go back and rewatch those episodes, but that's no problem. I've been slowly working my way through rewatching Buffy and Angel anyway.)

But yeah, Casey's going to have some problems all right.
