Review of chapter "The Motions and the Things That You Say" from Malaiaka
Review:
Hey - I really enjoyed this story - but I wanted to strangle you when ended on that ginormous cliffhanger!!!!!
Blink was one of my favorite episodes of Doctor Who, and I loved the way you brought in the Weeping Angels into other 'verses too
I hope some of those sequel plot bunnies bounce their way to the forefront of your mind soon though ;)
Comments from author:
Tee hee. Sorry. It was always going to end this way. I just love the idea of Buffy being so close to home and then having the whole cycle restart. Blink is also one of my favorite episodes, and of all the monsters in the Who-verse, I think the Weeping Angels would be the most at home in the Buffy-verse. Also, I like the idea that they're so quantumly adapted that different universes wouldn't phase them at all. Thanks for reviewing!

Review:
Wonderful story. And it is the story that made me start reading Buffy/Doctor Who/Torchwood crossovers.

Yelling? Pointy sticks? Calm and needles are a much better incentive in my opinion; fortunately it won't be necessary since you're planning a sequel and to update your other stories.
Comments from author:
I'VE MADE A CONVERT! Woot! That is just the absolute biggest compliment to give me. I will try to get some more fic up soon so that you don't have to sharpen your needles. Thanks for reviewing!

Review:
I happened to be more intrigued if it was more kind of like the original ending in doctor who... 'cause I'm not a crossover-ship kind of person and It may be more sadistic, but Buff is used to that kind of thing happening with her blokes... I also think that having them "know" eachother so well through telepathy was a bit convenient and even with the Doc/Buff ship it could have worked out without it. I really did enjoy this fic and thought it was imaginitive and well written, and I love the twist at the end with the angels.
Comments from author:
Oh, yeah: the original ending is more intriguing, but it's also, well, Paul Cornell already wrote it. Part of the fun of episode retreads is choosing when to diverge from the original and why. Original dialogue is great, but it's a real drag to retype. And as a reader, I tend to think that it makes fics drag: I already know this part, I want to see how a new character changes the story.

Here I had a Buffy with a psychic field to play with, someone who has experienced something similar to the extreme loneliness that the Doctor lives with, and who has done some pretty horrible things herself. So the question becomes, what happens when she looks into the abyss? Unlike the Doctor, Buffy did see everything, and a couple of things lingered (his name, the last few things he thought about), but she lost most of it and instead has a lot of vague if powerful impressions. She'd quip, that's a given, but I also think she'd have empathy and simpatico, and that she'd take him as a sort of a challenge. She'd want to pull him back from the edge. And she already thought he was kind of cute.

So is the telepathy convenient? Yeah, in some ways. Certainly saves me from a lot of exposition. And I'll admit that I've been going through a rough spot of late and personally needed a warm-fuzzies ending. But it's also a completely new direction. If I decide to take this back up as a series, he no longer gets to pull the "I'm the only one who gets it" card. And that could be intriguing too.

Anyway, thanks for the thought provoking review, and I'm glad you enjoyed it all the same.

I loved the ending, especially the procrastination part. It has been a lot of fun reading this story. I like to read all of your stories. I hope you do write some sequels to this one. I'll be watching for you to update some of your other WIPs. Keep up the great work!
Comments from author:
I tried to put a Buffy version Joan Redfern question from the original ending, "If you hadn't come here, would anyone have died?" Buffy would put a "wheel of morality" spin on the idea, while also bringing empathy: she's put her friends in danger through the mere fact of her existence too. It's good to know that other people like to read the kinds of stories that I like to write. I've definitely appreciated all your support while writing.

I shall never badger you on the merits of Martha Jones ever again. Wonderful chapter devoted to her and Tim. You continue to awe me with your Buffy/DW madskillz.
Comments from author:
Marfa needed her own chapter to figure her stuff out, and I hoped that you in particular would enjoy it. I have never before possessed madskillz, but will endeavor not to abuse them. Okay, maybe one ninja-raid. =) Thanks for the review!

Review:
Hahaha, that was an awesome ending to this fic! Of course I'd LOVE a sequel, but cutting this one off there was priceless.
Comments from author:
Tee hee. Does the fact that I *always* knew this was how I was going to end it make it super-extra evil? Thanks for reviewing!

I've had the ending in mind for a VERY long time. I don't think I ever considered any other. It feels good to finish it though. Thanks for the review!

Review:
We can just imagine Buffy's inappropriate thoughts! I feel bad for Martha not getting what she wants from the Doctor. And I'm sure Buffy needs a lot of answers. I can't wait for more!
Comments from author:
We all remember what Faith said Slaying did to her. =) Martha never got what she wanted from the Doctor, but I think she's getting what she needed. Last two chapters are off to the beta, and, yeah, glad you're digging it so far.

Review:
Yay. New chapter. Loved it but can't wait for more. Especially more Buffy/Doctor interaction.

I've no doubt you'll keep up the great work and so will Booster of the beta magic.
Comments from author:
I wrote the last chapter (yes, the story's almost there) at about 4:30 in the morning. Booster, being the good man he is, pointed out that due to these circumstances, there were a couple parts of it that were a bit crap. I looked at it with less sleep deprived eyes, and agreed with him. But in order to fix it, I had to add a couple of things to the *next* chapter as well. So he's got two chapters to re-beta, and then it's all with the done-ness. Anyway, I'm glad you liked this chapter.

Buffy, inappropriate thoughts? Hard to believe. heh..... I wonder if the Doctor can get her home? He'd probably be fascinated by a dimension with supernatural forces at work in it.....
Comments from author:
We'll see, I don't want to make it too easy on them. And yeah, poor Tim, you know what Faith always said about slaying... =^D Thanks for the review.

Oh lord... castor oil in the Headmaster's breakfast. I forget what that does, but somehow, I have no doubts the man is going to be having an inconvenient day...
Comments from author:
Let's just say that he'll be occupying the privies for some time. I thought it was a good way for Martha to get her groove back, and to remember Jenny. Thanks for reviewing. =)

Review of chapter "It's Hard to Remember to Live Before You Die" from katgurl
Review:
I really enjoyed this chapter. Actually, I've enjoyed the entire story, and I'm sorry that I haven't updated as much as I wanted. I'm really pleased with this chapter, and with the fact that now both Buffy and the Doctor have someone that know them so completely. This means that they have someone to talk to that knows what they are going through, right? By the way, are you going to continue with the rest of the season, and then go into season 4? If you do, I think that that would be wonderful. Hope the next chapter comes to you gentler than this one did, and here's to it coming soon!!
Comments from author:
Every time you review, all is forgiven. =) I like the idea of them each having someone to talk to as well. We'll see if this works as a series: but I do already have a couple of works in progress to get back to first. Thanks again for the review, and I hope the next chapter comes soon too.

Review:
Congrats on the noms, you rock! But dude, you already know that!

Enjoyed the ending to this chapter, with Buffy managing to steer the Doctor from dishing out his brand of vengence. I also loved that bit you wrote, her not seeing eternity, but endings. So true.
Now what's going to happen to our lovely couple?
Comments from author:
Aww... thanks. We'll see. Next chapter has yet to be written, and as this chapter proved to me, if I don't pay attention to what the characters themselves want, then the whole thing just goes kersplat. And yeah, death is her gift, so Buffy does the ending stuff. Thanks for reviewing, you're one of the opinions I always look for to make sure that I'm still on track.
