Review of chapter "Being human..." from (Past Donor)James
Review:
Enough said about Angel, let's talk Blaise.

I would love to read more of the SGC of this universe, especially of a joint Slayer/Wizard approach to some of the later Ori issues.

James
Comments from author:
Hehe. Yeah, Angel's annoying, isn't he?

More Blaise? I think that can be arranged. I'll see what I can do about more SGC... I do have to admit I always hated the whole Ori thing... We'll see what I can do about them.

Review:
So Faith is going to try to hand Angel his @ss and get it offa his head? Cause he NEEDS something/one to get him to wise up. Just because he was a louse as a human before, doesn't mean he can screw up his second chance doing almost the same things all over again!
Comments from author:
Indeed. He saved her. Now, she sees it as her goal to knock some sense into him. He's gonna find himself on the receiving end of a lot of tough love. One hopes it will be enough. I don't think Faith is going to let him drown himself in the bottom of a bottle... if she can help it. One truth, however. Addicts need to admit they have a problem and want help.

Review:
Finally able to catch up with this series. What a great, great story.

They all really have a lot of internal issues to deal with. I would say demons, but in some cases that might be too literal, except for Angel of course, whose problem seems to be that he doesn't have a demon to deal with (definitely falls into the "careful what you wish for category").

Somehow I don't see Cordy forgiving Angel, even if she eventually can be civil with him.
Comments from author:
Thank you so much for your lovely compliment! Glad you've had a chance to catch up in time for the finale which should be up soon.

Demons, issues. Yeah, they've got dealing to do... It's that real life thing. Angel definitely didn't know what he was longing for... being weak, achy, fragile and facing the decrepitude of age is over rated. I'm not sure in his case that humanity isn't a curse... It was a demon prophecy, after all...

Cordy's not a forgiving person... but Angel's been a big part of her adult life. In both good and bad ways, she's not the Cordy she was... He certainly went too far, didn't he?

:EDIT: Thank you so much for your recommendation! It is deeply appreciated.

Review:
I can really see Angel getting messed up with becoming human. From superhero to "nobody" is a pretty hard change to take. I see the PTB's are still making him atone. I begin to think they really hate him.
Comments from author:
Yup, it's one heck of a transition, particularly if people who used to be weaker than you (Cordy, Gunn) or people who used to be evil (Spike, Dru) are both stronger than you *and* have none of the limitations you had before... then again, I think part of this is Liam's character defects... He's either gotta address those or die.

Review:
Angel is really turning into a pain in the neck (no pun intended). He was a pathetic excuse for a human before he was turned, as a souled vampire he spent most of his time brooding, and now he's turning into a self-pitying excuse for a human. Maybe time someone put him out of everyone's misery...

Good to see Gunn has his soul, with the added bonus of sun - resistance.

Great chapter - I'm looking forward to the next one.
Comments from author:
Thank you. It the next chapter will be here soon.

Angel and Gunn are studies in contrasts... I didn't plan to juxtapose the two quite so directly, but when I started to put the chapter together, the contrasts just revealed themselves...

Liam was an ass... It never did make sense to me that Angel would want him back. Yet, he was portrayed as craving his glorious humanity... It struck me that it would bite him in the arse just as it did in that one day he took back. That day should have been a lesson to him...

Spike learned to embrace the demon and integrated it, Angel never did. I always thought that Angel's hate for his demon was a big part of his problem. Liam hated the demon and Angelus hated Liam... How could it end well?

Review:
Reality has struck hard Angel's heart and mind. Seems to me, he was so prepared to win his war, that he forgot how to win his peace, with himself and the world.
He needs a lot of therapy.

Nice to see Gunn found his way back in the world, but I wonder, is he ready to accept the price for inmortality??.

Cool chapter, see ya!.
Comments from author:
Yes indeed! Sometimes, reality bites. Angel's been practicing how to be a champion off and on for 100 years, and being big and dangerous for another hundred and thirty before that... It's no surprise he has no idea how to be a human being with aches and pains... therapy would be good, now wouldn't it?

Yes, Gunn is coping better, but then again, he's got a support network *and* he's willing to listen. Will he deal well with watching his wife and everyone he loves grow old and die? Does anyone? At least, he'll probably have a couple of other friends in the same boat (Dru and Spike). One day at a time, eh?

Peace,

Blue

Review:
So who is going to give Angel the bitch slap that he NEEDS so he will get his head outta his anus? He is NOT Angelous, nor does he NEED to be worrying about the demon that USED to possess him. He NEEDS to be thinking about his lady and how NOT to be treating her like a dang bimbo when she is not one. I can get that Angelous helped to trample down a few things that he had problems with as a human before, but HE can do it himself.

Glad that Gunn is now a Damfer like Spike and Dru! Mayhap Angel should ask for that! Since he can't get his head outta the past and live with the fact that he IS a normal human and that he has consequences for over doing that stuff!
Comments from author:
Well, there's the million dollar question!! Angel is in serious need of growing up and figuring out that reality usually comes with a dose of *real*. Vampire reality: super strength, endurance, demon, needs to spend his days inside, food tastes like straw unless you kill it with pepper... Human reality: human strength and endurance, permanent soul, heartbeat, can go where ever he wants... live a 'normal' life, do things humans can do... This is a case of be careful what you wish for... and illustrates the importance of acceptance of one's reality...

Sadly, we don't get to pick and choose from realities, otherwise we'd all be thin, rich and perfect and perfectly happy. Will Angel learn this before he drinks himself to death?

Fortunately, some people can work with the reality they've been given... Gunn, I think, will be doing just fine! Angel should consider becoming a vampire again... Not sure he'll be smart enough to either accept the reality he has, or take a step back... We'll have to see!!!

So, 25 mill is chicken fee... Just how rich is Willow now and how is this going to change the new Council?

So, is Willow going to fund the Atlantis project?

James
Comments from author:
Glad you've caught up! I'm working as fast as I can... Pulling together the final chapters of an epic is a job of work!

She's VERY, Very rich... I'm not sure how it will change the council or the Stargate program... Or any other part of the supernatural universe...

Should be interesting!!

Peace,

To bad about Draco and Astoria. I've always liked Draco, for some reason. Mostly in fanfic. Stupid fit shouldn't have let her fight if she was pregnant!

Hmmm, ensouling all vampires. That should reduce the vamp population quickly.

James
Comments from author:
I think when the world is at risk, I'm fighting for a better world for my child! She didn't die b/c she was pregnant... but it is still a tragedy. Wars are like this. I think that Draco is a fascinating character. I wish more had been done with him to make him more three dimensional in canon. Fortunately, we've got fan fic!

I've actually read a couple 'ensouling all vampires' stories... interesting problems always show up in the better thought out ones!

Well, this was a revealing chapter. Two alpha males and one time-shared body by two alpha females. Sounds like a recipe for murder. You never take the easy routes, do you?

Well, the payoff may take a while, but yes, it will blow up real good... Or real bad, depending on your perspective. Either way, there will be fireworks. Nope. Easy and I don't get along very well. ;-)

You totally amaze me. This was phenomenal! Only Queen C could trump a god-king. I also noted Illyria's faster humanizing, which I think was the blast of visions. Can't way till Sngel gets a load of her.

James
Comments from author:
That's a fabulous compliment. Thank you! Yes, Queen C 'slays' the idea that the god-king could have everything of her. The visions can't help but connect Illyria to the world. Poor Angel. hehe.
