Review of chapter "Chapter One" from (Current Donor)Manchester
Review:
Nice one. Yep, I realized who it was once I read "carpet bag." I'm glad you're concentrating on the books rather than the movie, since I had an horrific vision of Giles dancing over the chimneytops of Sunnydale....
Comments from author:
Don't tempt me! *g*

Giles, of course, can sing - but capering over chimmney tops? Most undignified. A passionate and dramatic tango, on the other hand ...

Review:
Yay!!!! Mary Poppins FTW!!!! And...Oh. *Moneypenny*? Could it be that Mary Poppins' daughter is *Bond*'s Moneypenny, the perfect in every way girl Friday and personal assistant extraordinaire?! Oh, you are a sly one. ^_^
Comments from author:
Not her daughter - but possibly her granddaughter. Or even great granddaughter now ...

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from WolfWriter
Review:
PERFECT! Lovely timing!

Once the carpetbag made it's appearance, I kinda figured that Giles' Nana was Mary Poppins.

I didn't know that Bert's surname was Moneypenny. (That's the only person I can imagine her marrying.)
Comments from author:
I don't think that PL Travers gave Bert a surname as such - but Moneypenny seemed appropriate somehow!

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from daveykins
Review:
Nice indeed :)

Any plans for followups... although it's "practically perfect" as it is :)
Comments from author:
Well ... I actually have a few more of these - although they are Giles/Buffy, so may not be to everyone's taste ...

I may now have to go look for the book. D'oh!

Well worth the search - as are the others (there are eight books in total!)

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from djhardim
Review:
Nice job. The carpet bag gave it away.

Moneypenny... Any relation to the Moneypenny from James Bond?
Comments from author:
Well, Giles did mention he had cousins ... :-)

Hard to avoid the carpet bag, which was the inspiration for the story. I was challenged to write a tale about Giles and a handbag - this was probably cheating, but it can be hard to argue such details with my muse!

Review of chapter "Chapter One" from MarcusRowland
Review:
Excellent - glad to see you've taken the literary version of Poppins, not Disney.
Comments from author:
There may (or may not) be some significance in the writer's last name being Travers ... *g*

The movie only gave a glimpse - and a rather sacharine one at that - of the wonder that is Mary. The books are much, much better.
