Review of chapter "'It's all about Manners... and also Violence'" from cmdruhura
Review:
He's lucky that she didn't decide to just kick him in the crotch. At least then the only damage to the school would have been a hole in the ceiling. Possibly the floor of the upper level.
Comments from author:
::snerk::

You've gotta figure that since he has them everywhere else, the crotch area would also have a couple of eyeballs in place of the usual....
Um, never mind.

Review:
Alright...sorry, I read through chapter 2 as well and I can't go on, this is just...The Harmony/Goddess story I loved, it's obvious you don't really like Xander and I have to say that there aren't many qualities that are likable in his character but what Faith did...at Xavier's? Jeez-Luize I was fully expecting Logan to track them down before they even reached their dorm room and lay the Smackdown of the century on Faith's ass.

I actually read a little from the other chapters and I wasn't charmed, this story, or at least the first six chapters to me look like the first 5-10 minutes of a movie where the Bad Guys rule and then around the 15 min mark were introduced to the Main Character who will kick the bad guys ass.

You did comment in one of your reply's that some people liked it, well you can easily guess what sort of dumbassess those morons were, probably no older then 12 hardly understanding why someone acts that way, just as long as Faith and Buffy kick ass.

I don't want my comment to sound so negative but it's just...the way you described Faith with the money she's mugged from stores or on the street, the X-men have had some questionable characters on their team and with the latest comics you have Magneto taking orders from Cyclops so Yeah...but he is trying to reform, is it for real or a hoacks we still don't know but he is putting effort in it where-as Faith is just...I don't even know what to say. I'm sorry but I don't like this story, you're a great writter and don't let anyone tell you otherwise but with this one...no, 2/10, the two is for a super-original crossover.
Comments from author:
Hey, thanks for giving me your honest opinion.
And, well, it's trite but true: no song, no movie, no story is going to appeal to everyone. My favorite published authors have put out books that do absolutely nothing for me, right alongside the ones that I read over and over again.
I do think your characterization of the people who like this story is over the line--dumbass, moron, child--mmm, not so much. I've gotten plenty of articulate feedback on this one, and they're mostly people like me, who simply enjoy seeing a different take on our familiar characters. For my part, it's refreshing to do a mean, snarky Buffy for a change, as a break from the endlessly noble version that populates my other stories.
I would go on to discuss, and maybe hint at the answers to some of your other points concerning the setting and plot, but since you aren't reading it anymore I'll spare you.
I hope you DO continue to enjoy the other stories.

Oh god, you just made the mice in my ceiling a whole lot worse. what if they are tiny little Twilight vampires? fuck I am so screwed if the tiny emo vamps come to get me.

also I was so not following this story, but some how ran across it again, and the two newest chapters are so kickass. For a while there I thought Faith had made a real new friend and would be mad a Buffy for moving claymation girl to another room. I love that Buffy is such a tease but I hope this doesn't end up totally like your other stories where that is all she does. Eventually Faith and your audience need a sexy happy ending.(hint hint)

Review:
You know, I've read all the way through Chapter 4, and I'm completely unable to go on. Your writing is excellent, and I'm loving your style. I like the way you've interwoven elements of the Buffyverse into a completely different setting. Your dialogue is generally good, and the use of tension and narrative effects is competent.

But your characters are horrible people and I cannot sympathize, empathize with, or even bring myself to like a single one of them. They are, except for flesh-puppet girl and, oddly, Harmony, mean-spirited, selfish, vindictive, brutal, and generally sociopathic in their actions.

There's not a single main character so far that makes me want to root for them or care about them in any way except to vaguely hope someone manages to knock them down a peg or three thousand. In this fic, no one is likable except the throwaway OC, and it makes for an unsatisfying read about unlikable people doing unlikable things for unlikable reasons.

tl;dr - Great writing, bad characters, unsatisfying read.
Comments from author:
Oooof!

::folds forward over punch to stomach::

Wow, don't hold back, tell me how you REALLY feel!

But really, you make fair points here; Faith and Buffy ARE bitches in this story. Which was kind of the mission statement for this fic, actually. I've done soooo many stories about these people, and they're always very serious and angsty and as true to the show as I could make them... this is my chance to write something a little looser. Still, I want readers to enjoy it (obviously), and I'm sorry to hear that you didn't.

It's possible I went too far with the bitchery, but in my defense I've received a LOT of comments here, and especially on ff.net, asking for more and more of the snarky/bitchy B/F. So I gave it to them.
And yes, at some point the two of them will get taken down a few pegs, and suffer defeats and humiliation, though of course since it's their story they'll also overcome those setbacks.

Harmony... well, I love Harmony (see 'Average everyday Supergoddess' for proof) and I plan on using her a lot more in this.

But again, I understand if you don't want to keep following this one. Thank you for the honest comments, and thank you also for the nice things you have to say about HOW I wrote this, if not WHAT I was writing about.
^_^

Be well.

I really love the quirky tone and nice AU world you've created! Just re-re-read this and now remember just how badly I've been missing having new chapters to read. I hope that you are still writing this as its one of the most enthralling AU's I've read with a nice bitchy Buffy and psycho Faith relationship that makes you forget all of their faults and cheer when they get away some really screwed up things!

Review of chapter "'It's my way or... actually there's *only* my way'" from Monet
Review:
Whoa. I just spent about the last two weeks going through most of your stories. And, despite the slightly neglected homework (though that's not really unusual), the late nights, and the somewhat worrisome dots I see from staring at the computer too long, I'm eager for more. Completely healthy? Probably not. But the warm fuzzies that accompany reading, specifically this and the Bedtime Stories, surely can't not be good for me.

What really awes me about this story is the fact that despite the completely different setting, the tweeked backgrounds, the enhancements of certain traits (Buffy's vainess, for example, which I oddly adore), and the lightly altered appearances, there's no doubt that these are the characters we know and may or may not love. Buffy's still Buffy (love), Faith's very Faith (love), and, god help him, even Xander's Xander (...). There's no hint that they are just OC's with familiar names and physical traits slapped on them. Then again, considering how awesome the twins are (I'm not entirely sure if I would rather damn SHIELD for stopping them or kiss thier feet in gratitude), even that would have made for a great story. Also, proof that Buffy and Faith's chemistry can cross deminsions = a smug, appreciative and very story-smitten me.

Almost done with the gushing, but I noticed that some of your stories, specifically the Bedtime Stories series, aren't on ff.net. Is that a purposeful choice or did you just not get around to it? I'm sure if you post them gradually they'll stir up a ton of reviews. I feel kinda bad that they probably don't have as much attention as they deserve. Fan-girlism aside, you're an amazing writer; the character depth in them is simply astounding.

Review:
If the twins could shoot beams of light from their eyes and write things on the surface of the moon what would they write.

I understand what you mean about Miranda and Marinda trying to takeover the story. Perhaps you could spin them off into a side story to be written simultaneously or after the main one's been wrapped up.

While I'm on the subject of spin offs I'd also want to see an epic love story chronicling the adventures of Mini-Faith and Mini-Buffy. Mini-Faith giving Merrie the finger was just priceless. I also like the hodge-podge of mini-characters and including the TM in the bratzy girls was spot on.

While I was reading that section of the chapter I remembered this one scene from a movie version of Gulliver's Travels. The Lilliputians have captured Gulliver by running ropes across his body and staking each end to the ground. It would make a great nightmare for Buffy to wake up from: being held down by the horde. Perhaps they could even be Mini-Faiths? Buffy's definitely right one full-sized version is better.

I noticed in your comments on another review you say Buffy has come out as more of a bitca than originally intended. Obviously, with characters as unpredictable as the twins I could never really know, but I had a sneaking suspicion they'd react well to Merrie's creations. Given the heavy hints you dropped in the last chapter, which were confirmed in this one. The twins only really want or need one bed so why couldn't the three of them share the room. Reading the chapter I just kept hoping something would happen to stop Buffy forcing Merrie out and I still hope it will happen in the next chapter. It's strange Evil I kill people for fun and might takeover the world if I feel like Buffy I can handle but I'm having trouble with the kind of mean pettiness Buffy is displaying.

Great Ending. I guess Buffy's learned that attracting girls as well as boys won't double her fun, as least as far as the twins are concerned.

Favourite Line of the Chapter "There are considerable considerations that must be considered.

How many more chapters to go before we catch up to the events of Three Mean Girls?
Comments from author:
::If the twins could shoot beams of light from their eyes and write things on the surface of the moon what would they write.::

They would carve it up to look like the universe's biggest Pokeball.
(^_^)

::I understand what you mean about Miranda and Marinda trying to takeover the story. Perhaps you could spin them off into a side story to be written simultaneously or after the main one's been wrapped up.::

I've promised my all-powerful Beta that if I write them a story it'll be an original, not a fanfic.
Ideas are currently bubbling and simmering within my brainpan.

::While I'm on the subject of spin offs I'd also want to see an epic love story chronicling the adventures of Mini-Faith and Mini-Buffy.::

At the moment I'm not completely sure what Mini-Faith will be doing, but she's definitely going to be lurking. I doubt Buffy wants a mini-Buff running around, especially if it turns out as mean as she is.
(O_O!)

::The twins only really want or need one bed so why couldn't the three of them share the room.::

They want their privacy.
And they would pester her mercilessly about making tiny versions of themselves; she would flee within the hour.

::It's strange Evil I kill people for fun and might takeover the world if I feel like Buffy I can handle but I'm having trouble with the kind of mean pettiness Buffy is displaying.::

Yeah... yeah. I'm a little too entranced by bratty/bitchy Buffy, I'm afraid. I'm thinking I'll put this story on hold for a little while, to give me time to ponder where to go with her.

::Great Ending. I guess Buffy's learned that attracting girls as well as boys won't double her fun, as least as far as the twins are concerned.::

Yes, toying with people and messing with their minds is only fun if they can't force you to follow through on your flirtations. She'll have to watch her step around those two.

::Favourite Line of the Chapter "There are considerable considerations that must be considered.::

I'm still not convinced that sentence makes any sense. It -seems- to... sorta. Oh well, they wouldn't care if it did or didn't.

Not sure how many chapters to backfill the story; I'm wondering about changing the way I'm doing the narrative, so it kind of hinges on that.

Thank you, Laoshi!
I look forward to Mega-Reviewing you soon!

Review:
I am actually loving this story and the powers you have created form some people are amazing and unique. Also loving the way the twins would consider Buffy a "possibility". I'm also liking the bitchy Buffy it's a nice change from the perfect Buffy we usually read about, but then again the more Machiavellian Buffy may become the harder she may be as a likeable character and how long would faith put up with it before finding it an unattractive quality in her?

Ohh I am in love with mini - faith!! she has to be in the story more kicking some rat ass in the basement or something, she's just so cute and badass that she should be available to public I would buy one or twenty. Buffy just has to realise how uber cool mini - faith is and carry her in her pocket or on her shoulder and mini - faith will be all like "stop looking at my woman bitches before I cut your thumb off!!"

Anywayyy looking forward to reading more of the story.

Review:
Well, that seems to confirm any suspicions about the line [both of us], while bringing us back to one of last chapter's comedy lines in an entertaining way at the end.
For that matter, this chapter served to make the twins even more entertaining than before ("Yeah, we can smite really good, Buffy," she said. "It's our favoritest thing to do.")

Since Faith seemed to get along with Merrie and appreciate her dolls I wonder if that will become a point of contention (if only a minor one) between her and Buffy, who met just the same day, though for the most part Faith seems content to follow Buffy's lead. For that matter, the reactions to the dolls seem like fertile ground for teasing. Your last few chapter titles have been rather amusing as well.

The way Buffy casually steals things in order to facilitate a con game is somewhat amusing, but I suspect you will have to include the a few more generous moments if you wish to keep the audience cheering for her after the last couple chapters--not that they've necessarily stopped or that Buffy should stop doing mean things but one can only take so much unmitigated backstabbing of somewhat sympathetic characters without needing something to relieve it. Of course, trying to make her do 'nice' things while flowing naturally from the character you've presented so far has its own difficulties. I look forward to seeing what happens.
Comments from author:
The twins: Yes, they enjoy each other's company. Um, they enjoy it a LOT.
As far as them being entertaining, yes, it's fun to write them. Unfortunately they're trying to take over the story, so I'm going to ground them for awhile.

Backstabbing Buffy: You're entirely correct, she's gone quite a bit further down the bitca path than I'd intended. Again, it's just so much fun writing her this way that I've let it run away with me a bit. Your point about giving her some balance to keep her sympathetic is well taken. And I'm sure I can manage it without forcing her into a complete 180.

Thanks for the (helpful!) reviewage.

Comments from author:
What, you don't think Buffy and Faith could act this way unless they're being irradiated by otherdimensional evil? I think you underestimate them.
Teenage girls (and guys, for that matter) can be plenty cruel and thoughtless all on their own; they don't need any help.
