Thanks, I do love writing the Fuffy.
More chapters seem certain at this point.

I can only think of one thing to say.. I love it. The whole thing, Faith's powers, Buffy kinda choosing Faith over the others.. Very nice =)

I like the way this story is developing. You are keeping Buffy in character but making her seem more real by not having her as self-sacrificing as she is usually portrayed. And I am loving the Faith in this story. I can't wait to see some more of her background story. Please update again soon..............
Comments from author:
Thanks.
Yes, this is the Buffy who showed up in Sunnydale and told Giles that she was finished with the whole endless fight against evil thing. If she sees something awful happening she'll step in, but she has no plans to go looking for trouble. (Of course, some Faith-shaped trouble has already found her. ^_^)

I simply love this story of yours. I seem to spend half the time while I am reading laughing my rear end off. I had to stop reading for a moment to calm back down after reading about Faith going through Buffy's bags. I guess we know who is going to be the butch and who is going to be the femme in this relationship. Lol! I can't wait for more, but I guess I have to. Thank you for the many laughs. Somehow I don't think Cordelia Chase is going fold as easily as the minions did.
Comments from author:
^_^!
Girly-Buffy is funny, yes. And of course, the Femme is the one really in control of the relationship, so it isn't like she's going to actually be helpless; she just likes to look cute while kicking ass (and telling Faith what to do).
Cordy might be formidible, sure, but this pair looks like they plan on having things their way too.

Glad you're liking it.

I liked this a lot. I was a bit confused in the intro about this being another in the 'Parallels' stories, since I can't find any others :-). Looking forward to more.
Comments from author:
There's another one called 'That's just like you', though I haven't combined them into the series thing here.
Glad you liked it!
More is already written, and waiting on my Beta's feedback.

Review:
I greatly enjoyed this.

Your writing skill is once again proven here. This idea is fairly inspired and caught me immediately. I can't wait to see the two universes merged, especially other characters like Cordelia and Oz as mutants.

You actually had me completely forget Xander was immortal in shock when Faith eviscerated him. Almost totally through me out of the story as, Buffy's almost casual acceptance of it seemed rather out of character no matter how negative a mood she is in at the moment.

I do find Xander's behavior hard to stomach but he's not exactly the same person in this universe so I'm not too worried about it.

Anyway, awesome story. I'm looking forward to the next chapter.
Comments from author:
Hey.
Glad you enjoyed it. I like the idea also.

Sorry that Buffy's indifference tripped you up; basically I just want to write a fresh take on the character. Over the years I've written thousands of pages on selfless, heroic-to-a-fault Buffy, and I thought it would be fun to go to the other end of her emotional/moral spectrum. Not to such an extent that it's not Buffy anymore, just her as her more selfish, self-absorbed, spoiled-only-child self (which we definitely saw quite a few glimpses of during the series).

Xander, likewise, got pushed to the extreme of his unpleasantness, in service to the story. Hopefully now that things are rolling I won't have to strain anyone's credulousness again.

Again, thanks for reviewing!
I hope to have more of this ready soon.

I like Faith... I like this Faith.

Okay, the other charcters are well drawn as well, but did I say? I like this Faith.

A really good intro to this whole Universe you're going to help us explore, and I'm looking forward to reading more. Please?
Comments from author:
Hi there, and thank you.
I tend to like most versions of Faith (except the whiny ones who cry all over Angel and then sit in prison for three years o_O), and I'm very much of the belief that even a crazy and violent Faith can still be awesome and sexy and actually sorta heroic... in a twisted sort of way.

I really like the way the first chapter turned out, and even though it didn't get a big response here, it's doing pretty well over on FF.Net. So yes, I'm going to keep going with it.
Thank you very much for commenting!

Bloody. :)

If ya wanted you could use my Challenge 3435: Mutants on The Block. The basic backstory is that someone involved in funding the building (or rebuilding) of the school would only do so if the new construction site was on a Hellmouth :D

Okay, that's kind of spooky. I hadn't intended this as a reply to your challenge, but it's pretty frikkin' close.
So I'll change the story info and pretend that this was my intent all along.
Therefore: Hey, I'm working on your challenge!

Review:
The Xander-jerkiness seemed a little bit forced, though it was a good call to keep Willow solidly on his side to preserve enough similarity to not lose the character entirely. I hope the whole Faith-Buffy/Xander-Willow/Cordy-Minions dynamic evolves interestingly, I think it has a lot of potential (there isn't really a 'good' side there, what with both Buffy and Xander being a lot nastier than usual). The whole grating multiple social groups thing could be an interesting counterpoint to Hellmouth dramatics.
Comments from author:
I wont argue that it was a bit of a stretch for Xander to go there.
Willow will, of course, always stick beside him, no matter how big an ass he becomes.
I agree that the multiple tug-of-war has some nice possibilities.

Thanks for letting me know what you thought.

Review:
I'm not sure how I feel about the use of that many of Xander's negative characteristics to help push Faith and Buffy together. I do believe that Xander is capable of having that type of an emotional reaction and physical confrontation, but something about that entire scene felt very rushed and a little too close to character bashing for my comfort.
Comments from author:
Hey.
Well, I appreciate honesty, and you're not wrong in that this is the most negative a Xander could be and still be any real Xander at all.
::Shrug::
My intent was to explore what things would be like had that initial meeting gone slightly differently, if Buffy had been in a different (and really, more Buffyish) mood/frame of mind. So Xander was more grating than usual, but not (I think) more grating than he COULD be, and Buffy was more touchy/angry/bitchy than usual, but definitely not more touchy/angry/bitchy than we ever saw her.
So... sorry you thought it was rushed, but 6000 words seemed long enough for one scene, ya know?
^_^
I hope to flesh things out a little more in future chapters, assuming there are future chapters.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

OK, first of all, Faith was a bit harsh on poor old Xander wasn't she? I sure hope he really is an Immortal. Lol! Second, your story made me laugh a lot. Third, I want more! Please? I wonder if a mutant Cordelia will show up next? Lol! I look forward to more fun in this very alternate universe.
Comments from author:
Hey there, long time no see!

Yeah, Faith being harsh to Xander is one of my most favorite things ever!
As for Xander being immortal, well... he was only exaggerating a little. Even so, getting eviscerated just CAN'T be a fun time.
You laughed? Outstanding!
More? Probably.
Mutie Cordy? Yep! Plus a few other familiar faces.

Thanks for commenting, sir!

Quite good, as I've come to expect from your work.
You managed to make Xander completely unsympathetic without actually making him out of character, as he has (like most Buffy characters) shown some very unflattering facets over time.
Faith comes off as more gleefully psychotic than usual (can't be permanently harmed and doesn't feel pain aren't at all the same) but still herself and the Buffy is also characterized excellently. It does leave some interesting questions, such as is Buffy actually a slayer or just a mutant and the same for Willow and witchcraft, that one looks forward to seeing answered in the future.

Well, thank you very much!

---You managed to make Xander completely unsympathetic without actually making him out of character, as he has (like most Buffy characters) shown some very unflattering facets over time.---

Thanks again.
I'm fully aware that I'm pushing the character envelope to the very edge with Xander, but I really, really (REALLY) dislike the character. Usually I hide that in my stuff pretty well, but this time I'm just going with it.
Because of the funny.
^_^

--Faith comes off as more gleefully psychotic than usual---

*_*
Ooooh, I LIKE that turn of phrase. (makes a note)
And yeah, I likes me a cool yet crazy Faith.

---(can't be permanently harmed and doesn't feel pain aren't at all the same)---

::Grin::
Oh, ah, I mean... really?
Jeez, Faith had no IDEA it would actually hurt him, seriously.
And she won't ever do it again, promise.
::Hides crossed fingers behind back::

---and the Buffy is also characterized excellently---

Just a little higher on the sulky/spoiled/bitchy scale than usual, but yes, she went to all those places in the series, so I guess I'm not TOO far out of line with it.

---It does leave some interesting questions, such as is Buffy actually a slayer or just a mutant and the same for Willow and witchcraft,---

And how 'bout them Vampires, huh? Wonder what's up with that?
^_^

Thanks for the excellent reviewage. Nobody likes telling stories to an empty room.
