Review of chapter "Immortal" from texaswookie
Review:
Looks like a great start to an interesting story why not add Hercules and the various gods? Heck you could get Thor from Sg1 being a clone he's theoretically an immorta, or how about the batman villian al ra gul or something like that. Hope I gave your muse something to consider.
Comments from author:
I don't study mythology or watch the shows that use the gods and stuff in them, so it'll have to be someone else who writes that. I'm not sure about Thor from Stargate, he's an Asgard and not exactly a lonely immortal who needs support, but maybe. Thanks for your suggestions and your review :)

Personally, I can't wait for Buffy to meet Methos. I can just imagine how thrilled he would be to learn of other dimensions where there are immortals who don't have plans or the knowledge to kill him.

Let's see other immortals Buffy could run into...off the top of my head there's Dorian Gray, Will Turner (PotC), any number of Gods (I can see Ares developing a fascination with the slayer), Macbeth and Demona from Gargoyles, any genie from "I Dream of Jeanie" (yeah, I don't know where that one came from), Acheron (Ash) from the Dark-Hunter series (actually any of the dark-hunters could work and they'd prolly appreciate getting to be around other immortals without their power draining), Captain Jack Harkness (Torchwood), The Doctor (Doctor Who) would also be a possibility, Nicholas Flamel, several LotR characters, Laurell K. Hamilton has several long lived characters but as they are surrounded by others of their kind and most fall into the vampire category that might be too much of the same for Buffy especially since she seems to want to let other immortals know they are not alone and/or there is someone they can turn too, Alexander Corvinus (the immortal father who's sons spawned the vampire and werewolf lines in Underworld), and I'm sure there are several immortal comic book characters as well.

Anyways, hope the list gives you or someone else ideas.
Happy Writing!

Thanks for that list, I don't have familiarity with most of them, but other people probably do. Hope you won't be disappointed, and thanks for reviewing!

Ooooh! I can't wait to see the troubles that Buffy runs into! Off the top of my head, here are some immortal characters that are scattered through the multi-verse who I would like to see Buffy meeting:

Captain Jack Harkness and the Doctor - Torchwood / Doctor Who (Jack's yet to find something that can kill him - and he's been through a lot - and the Doctor with his regeneration tricks)

Voldemort - Harry Potter (Buffy's reaction to finding out he made himself unable to die pernamently)

Logan - Xmen

An elf - Lord of the Rings (doesn't understand why she would want to die)

Ben (boy) and Ned (dog) - Brian Jacques' 'Castaway of the Flying Dutchman' (an immortal boy and his dog sent by an angel to forever wonder the earth fixing problems wherever they go)

Razor Eddie - Nightside Series (immortal god of the razor blade - slits the throats of his enemies and can only be killed by his own razor)

And of course... the characters of Highlander. Hmmm... I wonder if Buffy's tried having her head cut off yet or if it just grows back...

Good luck, and can't wait to see where Buffy travels!
Comments from author:
Many thanks for that list of suggestions. I only have familiarity with a few of them, but if anyone reads the reviews they'll see that list and maybe want to write a chapter or two.

I'm glad you're all excited - I can't wait to read about Buffy's encounters too!

Here I thought that I had read them all (immortal variants) and you come along and stand my beliefs all on its head. Thank for that now I look forward too the next chapter....
Anyone?
Comments from author:
Hehehe...
Immortals are fun. You can do just about anything to them and they keep getting back up, sometimes with severe mental and emotional trauma. Yes, I'm evil.

Thanks for reviewing, glad I could surprise you.

Interesting concept, not sure if the round robin thing will work, but maybe. Good first chapter though, so there's that to start with.
Comments from author:
I hope it will, I don't know enough about these other immortal characters to write them to my satisfaction, but this plot bunny bit me hard and I had to give it a try. Glad you liked the first chapter, and thanks for reviewing.

Nice.

No time to write anything myself just now, but given the abundance of Dr Who and Torchwood fics recently, might I suggest including Captain Jack Harkness?
Comments from author:
I'd love for him to be included. I've only just gotten into Doctor Who, and I've never seen an episode of Torchwood, so someone else will probably have to write that. That's why I'm letting anyone add chapters, I don't have enough familiarity with these other series to do it justice.

Thanks for reviewing.
