I think you made a good decision not having Batman take the fall for Dent. It's a case of only Nolan and his co-writers really knew where they were going with that. Telling it with that change makes your story better, and it is a good story.

Great first meeting. I so look forward to Bats reading the report on Buffy breaking the guys wrist. I'm so looking forward to their next meeting as I'm sure Bats will want to know more. Love it when Buffy puts two and two together about the Commissioner's purpose.

Hmm...police department still has a large percentage of corrupt cops even with Gordon as commissioner? Or is he still trying to weed them out?
Anyway...cool story so far.
Actually, question...is this set in the mainstream comic version of Batman or is this set in the movieverse post-Dark Knight?
Comments from author:
It's a work in process for Gordon. After all, he can't fire anyone with out proof. Thanks for commenting :) And yes, post Dark Knight universe except that Batman didn't take the blame for Harvey Dent's murder.

Nice. I like the change of perspective, her trying to live a (semi) normal life. Usually, you see these things and some slayer or other's all big and bad and take no prisoners and assumes Batman's some kinda vamp.

I like the extended version of this chapter, definitely helps with the gimme more syndrome this story inspires. Great concept and you've done an excellent job of keeping Buffy in character, the too tall sleepover made me smile. Looking forward to the next chapter!

annnd so is this story!~
Very sweet and a very environmental approach to Gotham fic, I appreciate only the bare mentioning of the man in this first chapter because you were establishing the reason for coming to the city and the view of the city for Buffy in a very general and interesting sense. You really did capture the idea of her and Dawn coming to that place in a realistic manner.

I like your story. Nice to see Buffy and Dawn as 'normal' people even if all Hell is going to break out soon I imagine. But what happened to Faith? I would think she and Gotham would go together like blood on a bludgeon. Lol!
Comments from author:
I'm trying to contrast the "girly" Gotham lives of the Summers girls vs the dark broodiness of Batman's before things get going. Faith would have already challenged Gotham's Dark Knight for his title ;-)
