A question about Buffy's ability to do magic. Since Buffy's ability to do magic seems to be related to her Slayer aspect, would she loose her ability to do magic if she "died" again?
Comments from author:
That's an excellent question, and one I'd have to think about a good deal before answering.
Thanks for the input.

Well, the memories she received from the alternate Hermione are clearly helping her. It's going to be interesting to see what happens if/when she and her friends ever manage to get together with Hermione & Harry. *That* should be quite a get together and one that would promise inordinate trouble and pain for the 'bad guys" (tm).
Comments from author:
The Scoobies are not going to be meeting Harry and Hermione for quite a while yet, since they're going to be taking care of several potential future problems themselves, in a manner similar to the way Harry and Hermione have done. ;-)
I will say that the eventual meeting is going to be quite memorable. ;-)

Buffy got a lot more than just memories with that wish, I'd say her IQ jumped up about a hundred points.
Edit: I'd thought that sharing the memories of Hermione Granger would have more of an effect.
Comments from author:
This Buffy IQ didn't so much increase as it is that she's making full use of the brains she possesses, rather than act as a bit of fluff. One of the episodes in season two or three noted that she scored a 620 in her English SAT, which would indicate she's not a dummy, just somewhat lazy.

damn good update .... and I would have to agree with the last poster .... Buffy's IQ certainly has gone UP. Maybe not Willow UP .. but definately up there... :P

Glad you're enjoying this version of Buffy as opposed to canon.

I liked the scene between Buffy and Angel, she handled it very well. This is not the same Buffy that would (Or did, time travel is so confusing) fall in love with Angel. Still, she was able to show understanding that Angel and Angelus are not the same being, and with luck set him on the road to doing something positive. I will be looking forward to your future work.

Thanks. Glad you're enjoying the story.
And yes, this Buffy is substantially different than the one Joss showed us.

An interesting idea of "what I did on my summer vacation." So I'm guessing she waits a few months (weeks?) and then writes to Giles to get him to "quit" the watchers and come to the town. And of course she has some time to figure out how to deal with the Mayor before he gets invulnerable. Thanks for sharing.
Comments from author:
No, Buffy will not be contacting Giles in the next few weeks, since he is quite understandably loyal to the Council at this point in time.
Don't worry, her long-range plans do include him, but other things need to take place first before she (and hopefully, the Scoobies, too) can get in touch with him.

This was pretty good! I liked the first story that you did with Hermione, and was waiting for one focusing on Buffy.
Too bad it's only two chapters, I'd like to see what Buffy would do in Sunnydale whilst she's off the Council's radar.
Comments from author:
I'm working on the next story at the moment. I'm going to be posting them as a series of episodic stories, since that way I think I can get them out a bit faster and in a more coherent form.

I really like this story. The only people certain to be included in Buffy's plan so far are Willow and Xander. Even if, for some reason, Giles shows up in Sunnydale as some of the other reviewers have suggested I don't see him as being more loyal to Buffy than the Council at this point in time.
The only thing that I thought was off-key was that even with all her planning Buffy doesn't seem to think of her mother, even in a "I have to leave her behind to keep the Council thinking I'm dead." manner. With all her future memories I can see her writing off her father as the waste of space he is but she was close to her mom before her mom kicked it. I guess we can only hope that Joyce still moves to Sunnydale after the divorce even though her daughter is apparently dead or missing.
Comments from author:
As you've noted, the only people Buffy is currently focused on including in her future plans are Xander and Willow, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't have contingency plans for recruiting other people. ;-)
As far Joyce and her health are concerned, the problem with the aneurysm didn't occur until approximately six years in the future, so there is plenty of time to address that issue. As far as getting her mother to move to Sunnydale, Buffy needs to make sure that her immediate plans concerning Xander and Willow works out properly before she needs to get involved in that mess.
You keep saying she is going to move to Sunnydale, but you haven't actually had her mother divorced or looking at Sunnydale yet. That seems to me the most difficult thing.
Comments from author:
There are many ways that Buffy can move to Sunnydale and only a few of them involve having her parents accompany her. You'll see more about this a few stories down the line.
Excellent second half. I liked how Buffy got Angel to torment the demon and how she helped Ford the A**h***. I hope she also gets Joyce to get her head MRIed often. And, as the saying goes, Now It Begins. I look forward to more of your nifty series. I wonder if Buffy can help Willow get over her Xander fixation by finding Tara and her mother and bringing them to Sunnydale before Tara's mom dies?
Comments from author:
Buffy has general long-range plans for what she'd like to see happening as far as her friends are concerned, but she has to make the other Scoobies accept her explanation of why she's there, first.
