I likr your version of Buffy. The one question I have is whether Buffy would have been attracted to Angel if she hadn't drowned (Willow didn't help matters much). I get the feeling that the Slayer Spirit served to keep the demon within the Slayer in check. Without that she was automatically drawn to darkness.

It will be interesting to see how Buffy gets her mother to move to Sunnydale.

As far as you're question about Angel, I agree in general with your view of the Slayer Spirit, but I also see the part of Buffy who yearned for a normal life viewing Angel as the stereotypical 'tall, dark and handsome stranger' most teenage girls lust about and her finding out that he was already involved in the darker side of the supernatural life making him an ideal candidate for boyfriend.

You are correct about Spike being the one who infected Buffy with the STD, since I don't see him worrying about something like that, what with him being dead.
