Your story should have way more than 14 reviews and I have no idea why it doesn't unless it's the Descent part that's throwing them off. I myself have never seen the movie but it was in the Anita Blake section so I gave it a shot. I have no idea who Sarah is and assume, like other reviewers she is someone from the Descent but it doesn't really matter..it's Buffy. I would think the crawlers are also from that movie but you've described them well enough that even without seeing the movie, I get the point.
I AM curious, however, as to how you're doing the timeline. The Buffyverse is quite obviously time locked as is the Anitaverse (technology, pop culture reference, etc.) and they seem to be in the SAME time, yet there is a 300 year time gap. I'm unsure as to how you'll get around that point and I do look forward to seeing it. You've carefully avoided mentioning a year when Buffy asked. Were the Scoobies 300 years ago or is Anita 300 years in the future?
I loved the long chapter, though I'm a bit dismayed to see it's only going to be a few chapters long. Your writing has a nice even flow to it. The story is easy to read, well written and the characters are true to form. Jean-Claude CAN indeed smell a power bump miles away and Richard would actually be his Boy Scout self and insist on "saving" the poor girl.
I did like that Buffy, even in her feral state, was able to differentiate..not human, she doesn't have to protect them. She's still the Slayer and she still has to protect the humans but Anita and Richard aren't human. I like that she protected them anyway. (Of course had she not, there would be no story, but you made it seem like the right decision and not just a plot device...the mark of a good writer and a good story.)
I really am looking forward to seeing the Slayer interact with the vamps under the Circus and seeing Buffy become again.
You're off to a great start and I really do look forward to reading more. Thanks for the wonderful story.

Intriguing idea for a story...I gotta say that I have no clue who "Sarah" is...I'm guessing a character from The Descent. But I like the primary focus on Buffy & the Anita Blake characters (b/c I know them better). So, she feels drawn to Asher? But not in a slay-ey way? Interesting...& now Anita & Richard have brought her to JC...& she's ready to slay. It'll be interesting to see how she deals with this type of vamp. & I hafta admit, when you first showed the centuries pass, I thought Buffy was gonna end up as the Mother of All Darkness. But I like the idea of her being her own identity.
& only a chapter or two more? This first chappie made me think this was going to be a 15-20 chapter fic, you definitely have the set up for it, & I'd love to see a longer one. I do adore the length of the chappie...I like a lot of info at once, it leaves more room for hidden gems that appear later in the story. Wonderful first chapter! Hope to see the rest soon.

I can see two things happen, Slayer kills all the Vampires, which probably would get her an execution order OR the slayer is going to be disappointed that they have souls, probably have a few flash-blacks of Angel and Spike.

A like the thought of a feral Buffy.. and her being attracted to one with shiny blonde hair.. I have a feeling I know who that is! ^_~ I actually enjoyed reading this because it shows a different side to the anita/buffy relationship. usually they are shown competing against each other but being very similar. however with this, i have the feeling that buffy is amused by their attempts. she is older, wiser, and almost looks down upon them bcs they are weaker and younger. she no longer has the need to protect but has hunter instincts. im wondering why anita is coming? i liked richard's explnantion that it is the teacher in him, but what is anita's motivation? the last line seems very ominous and i can't wait to see a feral buffy sprung upon them. I wish you would write ALOT more than a couple chapters. i would love to read how buffy adapts to their world, a possible relationship building with asher, and how she adapts to this new world. i look forward to the next chapter!
