"Janet, you ARE the father." I just love Blunt Dawn!!! Oh, that sooo was a laugh! Again, how will buffy react? This time, not when she learns Dawn joined some super-hero team, but when she learns that she isn't a single mother... AND that the father is in fact... a MOTHER?
Nice idea giving her a second mother - no idea why not, of course, X chromosome from both sides.

Yeah, someone already slapped me upside the head with that particular mistake. It's already been amended on the local copies and will go up tomorrow when I post #4.
*ponders* I think this is my first Marcus review. Rock on! :)

What can I say? I am not a fan of the Young Avengers. But oddly enough your story continues to intrigue me. I like it!
Keep this up and I might actually want to read YA. :) And can we get a Runaways crossover going??!?!?!?!?!? I mean they're already in California.
Comments from author:
The Runaways are in California (LA I think) and Dawn is in Cleveland. And the Young Avengers are in New York. But there is a planned crossover for further in this series. Not this story though. I do plan to address the SHRA from the Civil War down the line, but there's 11 planned chapters of this and at least a half dozen chapters of a few other stories between then and now.

Almost forgot. My guess, her latent growth powers are what kept her from being activated in the Hellmouth, (I still think she's a Potential), and the wake of her other powers will wake her Potential. Sides, if she DOES have growing/shrinking powers, I think she won't be able to grow as tall as Cassie, or shrink as small either.
Comments from author:
Bzzt. On all counts, actually. o_O
I will confirm that she does grow and shrink, and that she does it better and faster than Cassie. So Cassie's fears of being second-best are completely justified.
Excellent! And so typically Dawn! Especially the part where she doesn't seem surprised that she isn't Hank's... I mean Hank Summers' daughter. Knowing the guy, I would be happy too if I was her! Wonder how Buffy will react, though.
Comments from author:
Well, she's had time to come to terms with it. If she hadn't tested herself previously, I think she would have reacted differently but right now, it's just sorta like, "Tell me something I don't know".
Review of chapter "Tanning Interrupted" from Saturn
Review:
Good start. The collective requires Baywatch 5 nights a week and more chapters to this story.
Comments from author:
I rank up there with chicks with big boobs in tight bathing suits? Sweeeeet.

Starting to clear right up for me. So Dawn is more knowledgable of them than they are of her... Fun!
Comments from author:
Well, Dawn's got more knowledge on superheroes than they think. Kate was tagged as a potential Watcher candidate after saving the Young Avengers but became ineligible when she joined them. Establishing Dawn as an Encyclopedia Superheroica also will help when they get around to explaining to her who all the Young Avengers are.

Review:
Heh. Cosplay indeed. I'm interested to see where this goes. You've blended the two universes well so far, and I look forward to reading more. I love the idea of a Cassie/Dawn pairing. Another great femmeSlash from Joe.
Comments from author:
*blush* And it means something cuz you actually know the comics. @_@

Review:
Interesting premise... will the other parts of Dawn's lineage (Buffy and the Key) play any part in her superheroic career?
Also, don't think you've fooled me with the whole "Hank Pym is her father" assumption - the series title still says Dawn van Dyne. :p If the monks were assembling her piece-by-piece, they could have easily grabbed one X chromosome from Buffy and the other from Janet - hell, there're even experimental procedures in the real world that allow two women to have children together.
Comments from author:
Damnit. Stupid smart reviewers... o_O

Review of chapter "IwanttofindDawnSummers…" from tammin
Review:
Good Golly, Hank "The Bastard" Summers was once Hank Pym? How is that going to work out, and if it is true then at least Dawn has a good role model for super heroics.
Comments from author:
Oh, it'll get a lot weirder than that by the time this story is done...

I'll admit to being a little confused from not knowing much about the universe beforehand, but I'm looking forward to the reaction of certain scoobies when an unknown group appears to find Dawn... :-D
Comments from author:
Young Avengers is done by the same guy who writes The OC, so it's not a bad look at super-powered teens. Then again, the "high schoolers" in The OC generally acted like college kids or beyond... but the comic is better than the OC.
All will be explained Avenger-wise by Chapter Four at the latest.
